I like the layout of who we are after. No real big news here, but I did find the percents interesting.
The staff can definitely offer guys early playing time with how thin we are.

It's pretty weird how quiet LB recruitment has been in general.

We dont particularly feel good about any other LB right now besides Divinity, but we need possibly 2 more if we get him. Is there no talk of Andre Anthony at LB? He's pretty slim around 6'3 215-ish. Seems like a good OLB candidate.
Smith or McCullough could be a huge gets.

Are we still high up in Joyner's interest?

We are but since he didn't really go anywhere this summer, no one is sure where he may head. Sounds like a UNC, FSU and LSU race
I think Steele names Rahshaun for us. There's a huge hole at MLB next year, assuming the likely in that Beckwith goes pro, and while we have Fowler, he isn't really a MLB but can certainly play there

I'll be very happy if we pull Joyner, Fowler and Divinity. Steel and O are great recruiters, but when you are competing with the big boys, it takes a year or two to get your guys in. While thin, I think we will be okay.

The coaches identified Fowler as a MLB instead of OLB at the final camp he was at (@ 6'1, 235). However, the learning curve for him would probably mean he doesnt start there as a true freshman. He's used to playing DE for his high school team, pretty big move to go from that to MLB (And calling the defense) in 1 season.

Didn't Beckwith come in as a DE? (not saying that would mean Fowler would start at MLB as a true freshman, just wondering)

What pisses me off is that Devin White is an absolute stud defensively and could slide in and play MLB for us next year. I know that sounds ridiculous, but the guy is a freak. Very smart and has more than enough speed and strength to do it.
Unfortunately, running back is his dream.

why anyone would choose to play running back is beyond me. Especially when they are an incredible MLB prospect.

Yeah, I understand we got a few great guys earlier, but we really need some more help especially up the middle.
I will be shocked if we don't pull a couple of the big named guys on this list - we just have everything in our favor: strong D around the LBs, we going to have more "exciting play" from the Backers this year (with Beck now up to speed and the new D), we have Steele (who will be using the backers in a new way, and all the early PT.
I think we get 2-3 more IBs - I just don't see the staff letting this slide.

He can play RB or LB, and that is a good problem to have.

I have to wonder whether this is because Steele has a different scheme in mind.

Unless something spectacular happens, LSU will have to address this over the next couple of years actually. And will get harder; have an advantage with the playing time thing right now. Assuming in subsequent years, hopefully, will not be able to claim that. Moses is part of that plan, he'll be needed badly in the next cycle.

RB was much more fun for me. It's also a traditionally more glorified position. I'm assuming he may feel the same.

Didn't Beckwith come in as a DE?

Sad thing is the staff let this position slide for the last two years and it's gonna bite us next year. Obviously blame is put on Chavis, but Lester should have made something happen. Got to have a Beckwith type guy come in 2016.

Beckwith did it.

He was a bit of a tweener. Given his frame, some people thought he could potentially pack on enough weight in order to transition to a rush end.
However, there were some growing pains involved and I believe the coaching staff soon realized the looming issue with the middle linebacker position once Minter left.
