I am aware of our need of linebackers. If I remember correctly this young man from West Monroe missed his senior year due to injury. Garnett was supposed to be a talent. Any info? I assume he redshirted.

I believe he was injured this year. I'm not holding out hope for any walkon to receive significant playing time.

He was supposedly "not your typical walkon". I am just wandering if anyone knows if he is healthy and how is he doing.

Redshirted. He was injured his junior year. Moved to DE his senior year to help the team that had a plethora of LB. Saw him last Friday and he looked in good health.

I think he has a shot at playing time next year. He has the ability to be a thumper in the middle. The dude for his size is an athletic freak. People on here will compare him to Welter bc they are white but they are as far apart athletically and physically you will find.

Let Aranda get a hold of him, I think he'll be a player. I agree, he is extremely athletic with good size.

After seeing what Aranda did with walkons and 2 star players at Wisconsin, I say he had as good a shot as anybody else.

Saw him last week at the WM game. Says Aranda really likes him and his ability. Says Miles didn't care for him. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets significant playing time.

I'm envisioning a Jacob Cutrera type player. Am I way off?

Every white LB that Aranda turned into studs at Wisconsin.

I could also see him end up as a fullback...if we keep that position.

If he can play LB, let's keep him at LB. We've got 5 guys on the roster already that can line up at FB.

The best thing that could've ever happened to Layton, happened when Aranda came to LSU. I personally believe Aranda turns him into a pretty good/legit SEC LB.

Those highlights were of him as a sophomore? Wow. Unlike Welter, he doesn't wait for the RB to get to him, he goes to the RB, waist high driving with his shoulder. Yeah, Aranda will figure something out with this kid.

He's an attacker for sure, but he would be a liability trying to cover sideline to sideline. He just doesn't have the athleticism to be an every down player in the SEC, although I realize that won't be a popular opinion here.

I'm hoping he gets a shot on special teams next year to see if he can excel there.
