No, it didn't really work like that when I was there as the football program didn't exist yet. IMG is ridiculously expensive (they advertise that it costs $45k a year but that doesn't include boarding, meal plan, extras, and gear, it can cost up to 100k a year and probably averages 60-70 for most people) and people that can afford it have to pay. They gave scholarships for a very small amount of outstanding players that flat out couldn't afford it but for the most part everyone was paying

I bet since they started the football program a lot more of those kids are on scholarship now.

There's some videos of him up from the 7 on 7 championship at IMG this weekend. Unreal talent.

If he's good enough he will get offered at the July camp. Simple as that.

We got a couple freaks already committed though and Brandon Martin could come in in January too. All of these guys are 6'4+ with crazy athleticism.

He's unquestionably good enough. If LSU coaches don't want to offer, they know more than we do.

Like I said, all these guys we have are big and can run and can catch. If Davis proves he has the hands, he will get offered. If not, we have guys as good or better already on board

His knock has been his hands

Looked pretty good on that 1 handed TD. Maybe he should use 1 instead of 2.

Hahaha. I've been on the Drake Davis bandwagon for a while, he's an elite athlete.

What about the football people? This is what I mostly care about. The guys that got there on scholarships and not having to drop college level payout just to go to school. These seem like the truly talented kids. Having no idea about anything else, but I'm guessing that nearly all of the people that had to pay, had rich parents and meh talent.

I was looking at its football recruits and it's crazy how much talent they have on roster. It gets talent like Junipero Serra, Long Beach Poly, St Thomas Aquinas, etc, pull in yearly (and you can't tell me those guys don't "recruit").

I didn't think people that followed recruiting would ever believe that everybody that went there got D1 scholarships. I mean it's an Academy for rich people and/or talented people. Similar to those arts and dance type schools for high school kids.

That's all I can say now, and I really want this guy. He could bulk up to a TE (ala Vernon Davis) or just play as a big WR with crazy speed. Right now he is similar to the 5 star WR Campbell from last year that FSU got, but much bigger. A guy like him could blow up year one being nothing more than a go route and redzone specialist.

Not necessarily on the meh talent part, pretty much every single person that goes there has a lot of physical talent because there are thousands of people from across the world (it's not just an american school) that want to go there so they can cherry pick the ones that they want. The thing that separates the good from the elite is that the good ones aren't as polished yet, but I can guarantee that every single person in that school is a physical prototype for their position and is bigger, faster, stronger, and smarter than 99% of athletes across the country. Granted I went there almost 10 years ago but it doesn't really seem like anything's changed on that front

What's going to separate IMG football players like Savion Smith from our normal 5* recruits is their intangibles. IMG is putting in work and recruiting kids and getting an insane amount of talent collected but would you consider a 3* defensive end who's 6'4", 240, runs a 4.8 40, is stronger/works harder than anyone else in the gym, hasn't spent all of high school drinking/doing drugs, knows how to compose himself in front of a camera, and has spent 4 years in an ultra competitive environment playing against basically SEC level competition to be a "normal" 3 star prospect? I wouldn't, and that's basically what IMG is composed of. Some of their guys might be rated low because their game composure or coordination or something isn't quite there yet but every single person that makes it there is perfect physically and has rare intangibles, and those are the guys that turn into high draft picks later on moreso than a kid that's a lazy but ultra talented frickup who's going to screw up your team chemistry when he comes in. Basically any prospect that we sign from there is as close to a "sure thing" as you can get IMO

Drakes leader is definitely Florida state at the moment. Lsu does not honestly have much of a chance. His mother wants out of louisiana. Also Drake played a huge part in getting Shea to come to IMG. If things go as planned drake and Shea will play at IMG and then drake will spend 3 years with Shea at ole miss before going pro. Right now its:

1. FSU (his first major offer)
2. Ole Miss (could very well become leader if Drake and Shea build a connection on the field...off the field they already are best friends...they will be rooming together at IMG...Drake and Shea were both in Baton rouge at drakes moms house last weekend and will again be back here together this weekend)
3. LSU (not much going in tigers favor)

If he goes to fsu then his mom will move to florida also but with ole miss she will wait to move once he goes pro... she believes he will go pro after 3 years no matter where he goes which is probably true so for LSU there's not much of a chance...he just finished 2 summer courses so he could be cleared to play at IMG. According to his mom he is set on pla ying with Patterson at both IMG and as long as things go well on the field then drake will follow Shea to ole miss.

All this info comes straight from me talking with his mom so believe if u want but it does not look like Drake will come to LSU unfortunately. No matter what he will have a great career and will be making plays.

Also IMG was set to cost Drake 70k for just the 1 year according to his mom. But of course that whole fee is waived along with boarding being free also. So IMG is a very expensive school... But almost all the football players either don't have to pay or are on a majority scholarship where the price is very reasonable.

My oldest played with Drake for 4 years. He will NEVER step foot on a college football field other than on a recruiting visit.
