nice

Also

Tigers also like chances with LB Beckwith: One of the top players in the state for the 2013 class is East Feliciana linebacker, Kendell Beckwith. Going into the spring and summer it looked like Alabama was in the lead for the prospect, but over time LSU has been able to gain ground and might even be in the lead at this point. According to sources at LSU, Tigers coaches feel good about their chances to land Beckwith.

Not yet, but he showed out at the LSU camp...I think he will get one eventually and he loves LSU, so I don't think we'd have to sweat it out with him.

I've never seen any film on him though.

Correction, well I have now. Looks pretty good at DT.

McDowell is a DT recruit and a good one.

Godchaux got the approval for an offer(If Texas can do it, so can we) contingent on academics. I really don't understand our staff's thought process on academics. At one time we wouldn't offer kids with questionable academics(Lacy and Sentimore are the most recognizable) but now we take on kids every year that don't qualify and most were very early takes. Alonzo Lewis, John Thomas, Jeremy Liggins, Avery Johnson and this year there are questions about Cutrer and Lawson. What benefit is there to taking those kids but telling another that his offer is contingent on grades? Very inconsistent. Godchaux's talent is not the issue so it appears to be purely grades. I'm sure there's some reason for it but I can't figure it out.

If the staff notices grades may be an issue two years out, then It's smart to make it contingent upon grades. Hopefully kids in this situation buckle down on the studies since they have more than enough time to fix the problem. However, if a top talent wants in as a senior, you take and hope the grades work out.
