Still has a lot of work left to do to get qualified, so not upset over this one. I think this means we'll definitely offer Godchaux in the coming month.

I hope we do. Godchaux would more than make up for losing out on Thornton.

Talented kid but needs to do a total 180 in the classroom. It will be interesting to see how his grades play out now that he is an Auburn commit.

Yeah people will forget about Thornton quickly if Godchaux jumps on board. Which I believe he will when offered, he has been talking about getting an LSU offer and trying to get one for a year now.

As soon as LSU offers he will be a Tiger. Look for that offer to come in June at camp.

Yeah, that worked out so well with Jovon Robinson, Jeremy Richardson, JaQuay Williams, Darrion Hutcherson, etc...

The coaches already have a plan in place for him. Bryan Matthews, Auburn 247 Mod, has said as much. It'll be Junior College and then he'll either re-sign with Auburn or go elsewhere.

I'm just going to act like you meant to spell it that way...

What are you going by? I ask because his hudl account lists a 4.6 40 yard dash, and his rivals account lists 4.8. On film he looks extremely fast, but I'm not sure which is more accurate.

I do know that Rivals listed Corey Lemonier at 5.06 coming out of high school, and he ran a 4.6 at the NFL Combine.

Was lsu even recruiting thornton anymore? I know a&m wasn't and wouldn't have taken his commitment and I assumed the same was true for lsu.

We were, but Auburn made sense. Teammate is there and he pushed up his decision date after the aub visit.

I think he would've picked LSU if we had taken his team mate Deshaun Davis who is now an Auburn commit. Grade risks are still worth entertaining especially for talented guys from AL where miraculous things tend to happen. LSU more often slow plays the in-state grade risks because they know they have a good chance of flipping them if they really want them in the end.
