I just came across this video of Franklinton RB Josh Robinson who supposedly been clocked at a sub 4.4 forty. I was hesitant about it at first until I saw this newest video on him. I may be mistaken but didn Franklinton make it to the Dome last year? This kid put up good numbers for them scoring 30 TDs. Have any of you seen him play?

Yeah, Neville beat them in the championship game

So this guy played against some pretty good competition this past year? I also heard his HS averaged like 50 points per game last year.

His team always has pretty good talent. His QB on most of those highlight plays is committed to LSU to play RB - Terrance McGee.

Currently on roster we have Brandon Taylor who is from the same school.

The only time I saw him was in the Dome. I think Neville held him and Magee to less than 100 yds combined. Neville's D-line was camped out in their backfield all night.

Those highlights you posted look pretty good to me. Shows good speed and agility.

OK guys, I have to tell why I posted this.

Robinson is coming to Mississippi State this weekend, and is more than likely going to commit to us.

So, do you guy think this kid can play in the SEC? I think that he is a good fit for Mullen's spread offense. This highlight tape shows me he is legit 4.4 and is very elusive.

Kid has good balance and is deadly when he gets to the outside edges. He also shows great heart.

I am from there. The coaches are saying he ran a 4.27 at S. Miss electric timed. F town averaged 50 a game last year and open this season against Abilene Texas. Abilene is ranked #3 nationwide according to Maxpreps.

I think he can play in the SEC.

I've seen him workout and run 7-on-7 and talked to him a bit.

Seems like a nice enough kid, he's definitely hungry to improve.

Good news for MSU, he really likes Mullen and appreciates the Bulldogs getting on him before anyone else.

Said he'd heard from every school in the SEC, but only some of the coaches had actually talked to him and MSU was his favorite one.

Oh yea, I also saw him run a 4.27 laser-timed 40. Granted it wasn't NFL combine-quality equipment, but he straight burned a bunch of guys who thought they were fast.

also... he's pretty short and could bulk up some, but he's also pretty ripped and running as the slot receiver this year will really help his versatility. a guy who can line up behind the qb and turn it up the field like that shouldn't have trouble finding playing time under Mullen

Our staff is really recruiting the state of Louisiana very hard. Mullen and his staff are trying to find kids like Robinson that fit his offense and give them a chance to showcase their skills.

FWIW, Mickey Johnson's very first offer was from Mullen and Mississippi State.

Josh looks like a football player. Runs strong with great field vision and speed. LSU just doesn't have room for a lot of great players in the state this year. It looks like a solid pick-up if State can land him.

From what I have been hearing and reading in the last 24 hours, its a done deal. Josh will just make it public after he finishes our camp.

IMHO I think that getting kids like him with that kind of speed is what we need at Mississippi State to be able to compete against the big boys. With Coach Mullen as our HC I believe we will have more athletes and speed on our roster than ever. I cant believe he is only a 2* though. Maybe a HUGE senior season will bump him up to a 3*.

If Mullen runs the same scheme that he did in Florida, this kid fits perfectly into his program. Forget about the stars and trust the coaches on their evaluations.

If LSU decides they want him, I'd be shocked if he didn't go there. A Franklinton kid turning down LSU would be a sad day lol.

I wonder why this kid is evaluated so low if he is legit sub 4.4 forty type of kid. I read he scored 30 Tds last year. I agree with you on trusting our coaching staff.

I extremely doubt this. He has been quoted in MSU articles saying he did not like LSU at all and was not interested in them due to their staff not recruiting him as a RB. He was quoted saying that a LSU coach telling him he wasnt running back material, but they would look at him as a DB. The kid believes he can play RB in the SEC.

And anyway doesnt LSU already have 3 top notch in state RBs committed?

LSU has a great class of running backs coming in. No room. And that is a fact.

Call me crazy but this kid reminds me a little of Ladainian Tomlinson.

One of those running backs is his team mate Terrance Magee. I've heard he is pissed at LSU right now as well from coaches at Franklinton. All that being said, if LSU offers and he doesn't take it at the end of the day I'd be very surprised. Franklinton is such an LSU town, he will never hear the end of it.

Is Terrance Magee a QB or RB for Franklinton? I noticed on the LSU commit board they have him listed as a RB. How much of a difference athletically is there between Magee and Robinson?

Also, FWIW MSU is recruiting and have offered Franklinton WR Chris Briggs as well, he is a 6'5" 191 kid. To my knowledge MSU is the first school to have offered him. We must see something in him that we like.
