Hard to say, competition Curtis faces is not all that until they play Evangel in the state final every year. Curtis needs to play in 5A.

Curtis players are hit or miss, sometimes they do well other times they don't pan out.

You are getting a well coached player though.

McKnight didn't really live up to hypw at USC.
Several have not made it at LSU.

Torrey has a long, lean frame that the Bulldog staff can add weight to. He is strong and plays with good leverage. For the defensive system John Curtis plays, he more than holds his own at defensive end.

FYI, one of the John Curtis players was at the Mississippi State/LA Tech game. Class of 2013 running back Tevin Horton. Attached is a youtube videolink to highlights of his spring 2011 thru the first 4 games. LINK

Mississippi State has also offered a 2013 LB from John Curtis who was MVP of the State Championship game last year as a soph. He recorded 20 tackles in that game.

ETA: his name is Duke Riley

I watched them against Westgate. It wasn't their most disciplined game, but they've got some good players. The TE committed to LSU looked really athletic. Bell made a few plays, he's going to need to get a lot bigger though. I didn't notice any linebackers that stood out, but Curtis has a couple of RBs that may be pretty good in the future.

Westgate had a couple big running backs that they didn't give the ball to enough. I found out later, one is only a soph. He's going to be a good one.
