Yea Jimmy who predicted LSU lands M. Wilson, Devonta Smith and M. Bryant and not K. Chaisson about 24 hours before 2017 signing day. He knows nothing! This article means nothing!!

Lifelong State fan and been going to State games since he was born.Dad played at Miss State and is a season ticket holder.Has numerous family members who are Miss State season ticket holders including a couple who give money to the school. We had a little "in" with the dad but it's not going to counter the history there.

Good kid and family so I expect them to not play this out in the media and will say all the right things for awhile.

Why are half these comments acting like this is the real class. Sometimes this site is like reading facebook with a bunch of dumbasses believing every fake news story.

Not helped by the fact that we already have eight 3-star commitments in the class. Very USCe-like. Not gonna cut it - and definitely not gonna beat 'Bama.

Hmmm...I'm pretty sure Bama just got beat by a walk on. Stars don't measure work ethic. All they show is who can play backyard 2 hand touch in shorts and a tee shirt. These kids aren't rated on game film. They're ranked on camps. Stars mean dick.

Stars mean something, but it is not the end all.

I think a lot of the finish for the 2018 class depends on how this season goes. If we shite the bed (which I don't think will be the case), I think it'll be an average finish. If we do well I think more kids will be sold on CEO and the assistants and get on board. We're always going to recruit well based on name alone, but if kids see we're set up to be a winner for years to come, I think some that may be on the fence will be all in.

Star gazing is always pointless, but most especially when we're 15 months out from NSD.

When camps start being full pads, full contact, THEN I'll take some stock in them. The bumps/drops after Under Armour/Army games hold more weight IMO.

Alot will change between now and signing day. It's so early in the process. I like Jimmy and his work, but predictions at this point are meaningless.

Someone should come up with a formula to give different values to the offers of schools and have a totally unbiased ranking system reflective of that. Go ahead and tithe with your newfound profits.

I understand the connections. But perhaps he wants to blaze his own trail. You know there was a time where the following were described as life long fans of LSU - Greg Robinson, Cam Robinson, Dylan Moses, Ike Hilliard in the 90s etc etc. Some grew up in the shadows of TS or had family who played at LSU.

Then again do you personally know the family very well or even somewhat? If you are close to the inner circle and don't want to get too descriptive beyond what you already posted then I understand. If not, so be it. In all due respect, someone knowing their connections does not necessarily mean they know every motivation force or intentions going on in the inner circle.

I've always thought there should be some sort of ranking system based on offers.

Schools do treat them different based on preference and the number they give out, admittedly. But every offer has value to the school, they don't just give them out to everybody. Hence, the value that schools are willing to expend can be ranked.

To one of your points, the $ of the value of scholarship should be included as a secondary factor. With primary being how many offers does the school give out, avg recruiting ranking in previous years, etc.

That's overall, disappointing if it does end up like that. We need some blue chippers sprinkled in from here on out. I feel like despite Orgeron being a great recruiter himself and how solid this staff is we're going to miss Miles recruiting. Regardless of his gameday ability, he was one of the best at recruiting.

Just to flip back to last year this is what jimmy predicted in May 2016 for the 2017 class:

LINK

QB: (2) Myles Brennan, Lowell Narcisse
RB: (2) Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Travis Etienne
WR: (3) Stephen Guidry, Jordan Murphy, Mannie Netherly
TE: (1) Camron Horry
OL: (4) Edward Ingram, Austin Deculus, Saahdiq Charles, Adrian Ealy
DL: (4) Marvin Wilson, Tyler Shelvin, Isaiah Buggs, Phidarian Mathis
LB: (4) Patrick Queen, Dylan Moses, Nadarius Fagan, K'Lavon Chaisson
CB: (2) Kary Vincent, Jontre Kirklin
Safety: (3) Grant Delpit, Todd Harris, Jabari Coston
Specialist: (1) Joshua Bulovas

I bolded the guys we did sign.

He did not predict, but we landed:
WR Racey McMath
FB Tory Carter
OL Seth Stewart
DL Justin Thomas
DL Neil Farrell
DL Aaron Moffitt
LB Jacob Phillips
LB Tyler Taylor
S Todd Harris

This is not a knock on Jimmy, just showing how ANYONE'S 9-10 month ahead of signing day class prediction wont really be anywhere close to what you end up with.

It still pisses me off we didn't land Wilson, Buggs, or Mathis.

I'm only really upset about Wilson. I may be wrong on Buggs but I dont think that's as big a loss as we originally thought. He supposedly isnt in the best of shape and didnt have the sophomore season he could have. Mathis I honestly dont know about...

Wilson would be a game changer on the DL. Put him and Lawrence on the same DL would massacre opposing OLines.
