James Smith, NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune1 hour ago Little torn on this...I think Clark is one to watch here...all the pieces are in place for a signing day switch. not saying I'm expecting it, just that it is quite possible in my opinion. As for Washingoton and Godchaux, I think they stay put, but either of them signing elsewhere wouldn't surprise me much. LikeReplyShare

Be interesting to see if he actually makes predictions today on anyone besides LMFAO, Teuhema, and Valentine.

Tough to predict anything anymore. If you're right, you're supposed to be, but God help you if you're wrong.

Agree . People this year got solid info then kids changed their minds or misled schools. It all happens

It's not solid info if it turns out to be false. Hate to say that. If recruits lie then it's bad info. Yes recruits say it, but someone else reports it. Maybe the "experts" can't just take everything these guys say as the truth because they often tell multiple sides the same thing.

I think what he means is those covering recruiting have a tendency to report things as fact even if it's second hand info or came from a 17yr old tired of answering the same questions. It's not too much to ask for a little objectivity. Jimmy has been better about it lately but he's been caught with his pants down before.

Every one of these guys preface things they report with, "I'm hearing," "I was told," and "People close to the situation said," but people want definites when there are none.

Yeah, more or less what you said.

I don't want to read something just telling the fanbases what they want to hear. When we get multiple reports from different schools that they feel good about a recruit, maybe we can't take what that recruit has to say at face value.

I tend to put the onus on the ADULT reporters rather than kids. It's up to them to flesh out what's legitimate news and what's smoke. How do they do that? Beats me, but they're the ones doing this for a living, they should figure it out. I reject the "whelp, there's nothing we can do, we were lied to." That's not acceptable. Recruiting news won't be much better than tabloids if that's the case.

Whatever he predicts will be revised 5 times before noon tomorrow.

Definitely hedged his bets here. Followed every answer up with "but, wouldn't be surpised if..."

I think I could be a recruiting analyst full time if that's how easy it was to predict outcomes.

Yes, how dare someone change their perception of a situation based on new information. We must be steadfast and stubborn and stick to old predictions regardless of the new circumstances.

I thought Jacory was solid - would surpise (not to mention disappoint) the heck out of me if he flipped.

exacatly.

once you've been around recruiting long enough, you'll understand this. It's all fluid, there are lies, and there is a lot of money involved. It's the game. It's why it's fun.
