Harris had basically a whole year, minus Auburn, Miss St and a few others. Nowadays, that is plenty of time.

LOL, no he didn't He barely played and still accounted for 9 total TDs to Jennings 12 (and he had that bowl game)

Also, it's not nearly a year and that is not plenty of nowadays.. Maybe if he had been a RS freshman.. but he was a true freshman last season.

Feleipe Franks will not be as good as Brandon Harris. Not sure what kind of spark he would provide

I'm pretty sure Franks is an EE.

I think people will go apeshit when he starts as a junior but i think the two years behind Harris will be a huge reason why he starts strong.

For those that dont know, Franks plays a lot of snaps in a veer offense.

He's also a pretty good kicker. Made a 47yd FG in their last game.

Not as soon as he hits campus, but he likely doesn't start until he's a redshirt sophomore. He'll have a bunch of big targets by the look of it, and he is much more of a pocket passer with mobility. He's like Mett, but mobile, and with 2 years and a 3rd offseason before he plays most likely, he should develop pretty well.

Yep. They had to modify their offense because it was the first time that they had a legit passer in it.

No he isn't. He may have awesome QB skills, but he has shown nothing to conclude that he is a great QB.

That is like saying someone is a great secretary because they can type 120 words a minute and keep an immaculate, color-coded Outlook calendar; if they can't come up with an excuse for why you are out of the office when you are on the golf course, they aren't great at what they do.

I hope that he develops into that guy as well, but it is disappointing how much leeway our fans give this kid after the way we treated a guy in the same exact position last year.

Agree with the sentiment about Jennings, but there is no question Harris has a lot of potential and has already showed himself more capable. No one is saying Harris is playing like john elway in his prime. We are only pointing out that he is a talent that is improving his game, and with time will be a great tiger. There are many comparisons on here to qbs in other systems that just don't compare to our system. It takes longer in the Lsu system to develop a qb.
You may not like that, but I think it is benefitting our program. While there is no question we have talent entering our program, there is also no question that Lsu is the best in the nation at preparing these young men for the nfl. While some may think that it doesn't matter and you just want to win, they are short sided in their thinking. The success in this category of our program has attracted many kids that may not have been interested otherwise. We have maintained a talent pool at Lsu unmatched by any school in the era except for the bad guys in Crimson. Our lack of a natty has been for one reason, qb play. And despite horrible qb play our coaches managed to take a team to a natty only to have to play a team we had already beat at their place and was probably the only team that could have beat us! Harris, then franks will get us back on schedule at qb. Things might not be perfect yet, but will continue to improve weekly. Keep your heads up as support this guy, and all Lsu qbs including Jennings who did the best he was able last year. If we build up franks as a savior as we have Harris and then demand Harris step down, there will never be time for any of them to develop. I think we are heading into the best 5 years of Lsu football ever. Support these guys, step back, and enjoy the show!

It is extremely difficult to come in and start as a true freshman, even for someone with the awesome talent and as highly touted as Franks is.

It is very difficult to "develop" a QB in a system that is so run dominant. It is a slow process no matter who the QB is, when in some games your QB Is only passing the ball 14 x

Our fans are such brats, never happy. We are the envy of nearly every program in the country less a very few, and yet all we do is complain.
