Every year about this time we find ourselves excited about what juniors we can lock in. Along with that excitement we always remember that signing day is a good while from now and anything can happen. This year just feels different. There is a major culture change at stake and it started years ago. We market our brand as Louisiana not just LSU. We are battling everyone to keep our kids home. Sometimes we battle our own HS coaches. But with the fresh air that Ed brings, things just feel different. The recruiting season quickly took on a direction of despair with the sudden boom from Kansas. But it did not affect us. Ed knew that our very own booms were right around the corner.

Like many of you on here, I have followed recruiting closely for over 10 years. Watching these three from Evangel blow my mind. These guys are the real deal. We just got a commitment from three guys on the best team in the state of Louisiana..(spare me the debate)who could have slow played their way to signing day building up their own ranking. Forget about stars. Watch how these guy play football. They are relentless and full of passion. They play with ruthless physicality. It has been years since I have seen this from that many players on one team.

The Evangel Trio may not have been our first commits for 2018, but I truly believe they are the major dominoes that needed to fall for this train to take on a whole new life of its own. Players from every corner of the state are well aware. This news is huge. Major props to the staff.

How much are admins paid to watch over the board?

We need to do what Bama does to be more successful. Offer every 5 star in America and not worry just about LA kids. Its nice to get our local kids, but we never land our big fish. Go after all the big names all across 'merica and don't worry about hurting anyone's feelings

*but yes, it was good landing these kids and putting a "picket fence" up. We need a trump wall

lol... Good Lord. Do you need a safe space, snowflake?

It's shitty that I wonder how some of y'all live and die on the decisions made by 16/17/18 year olds?

It's shitty that I voice my own opinion on a topic on a message board?

I never said that you couldn't have your opinion, I just find it interesting how deep SOME of y'all get with it.

Its the recruiting board, are you honestly surprised? If guys didn't care so much about it, it would be boring around here, and probably mean we suck as a program.

Well, the school is called LOUISIANA State University. It's no doubt necessary to pull players from out of state to fill spots that La. players can't, and great when the staff can do so. But if a La. player can develop and help the team in a year or two (where help isn't needed immediately), then the La. player should be offered.

If players don't think LSU cares about them, then why should they care about LSU? And then, why shouldn't they go where they think they're wanted?

Not that Saban gives a damn, but how many Alabama players grow up dreaming about playing for them, then end up hating them because Saban would rather plant OOS four-stars on the bench than give local kids a chance? How many Alabama players get turned away by Saban, then turn into stars at other schools?

There has to be a balance. There's nothing wrong with taking undervalued in-state three-stars that can develop.

Louisiana is the most unique state in this country. New Orleans is the most unique city in this country. Shameful that people who live in this state doesn't know that.

no one lives or dies for recruiting, rummy. its fun and entertaining to watch. i cant recall any suicides from recruiting failure (really anywhere).

Recruiting is like a story line that builds throughout the year. its fun to watch; to some, as much as the games themselves. so, take your 'snowflake' comments to the political board. your need to speak down to others should be placed elsewhere.

Well, you know what they say. Opinions are like arse holes. Everybody has one. Doesn't mean everybody wants to know about it.

Don't be so literal.

lol... MY need to speak down to others? My initial comment was fairly innocuous, and then I started getting called names. My need to speak down to others...please.

Hahaha...

It's. A. Message. Board.

I could say the same about your opinion of my opinion.

But I won't, because it's a message board.

Yet, you do realize you spend a lot of time watching the decisions of 19 year olds (practices, games, etc) and a ton of time monitoring people talking about the decisions of 19 year olds?
