Meyer wants him because he fits his system. He does not fit LSU's system any more than Jennings and Harris do. He's a great athlete and if LSU ran an offense that featured a DT QB then he would be a great fit.

I have seen his film

Great athlete...special on that end

I don't think he is a QB ..at least right now...he has a long way to go.

He will not beat out Harris IMHO

Would love to have him. I know recruits read the board and others close to the situation. Having Gibson a 5* "QB", combined with what we already have.

You could envision another Russ Shepherd type situation, sorry to say. He is extremely gifted athlete and given time I think would be a good QB anywhere. You give anybody with that sort of natural talent 2-3 years with Cam and it will be great. You want your most talented offensive players with the ball as much as possible and he would be that. That aspect has never changed in football, regardless of formation, style, or coaching.

Very true but I think he could be a shotgun or pistol type qb as well sometimes its not bout the system. Sometimes its bout the guy coaching the system Meyer an Cam are in two different solar systems far as coaching qb's go that being said Cam might adjust too his skill set who knows!

He is an excellent athlete. He struggles with accuracy unless he's throwing a fastball. Any touch passes he throws seems to be overthrown a bit. I'm sure some of that can be fixed. I think he's boom or bust at QB. He would make a great Wide out, but he wants to play QB

I think more boom than bust an SEC caliber skill set I think he will be a successful qb where ever he goes.

I hope that's not the only grammatical error you saw.

Every time I see a Russell Shepard comparison I laugh. This kid has more qb talent than Russell ever could've dreamed of having. He's not a noodle arm and actually has potential to play qb in college. Russell never was gonna play qb at a major d1 school. Didn't have the skill set. Gibson has a long way to go to get there but he at least has the requisite skills to get there. Also Gibson is bigger and a better athlete than Russell. Russell was all athlete, no football player. Good kid and great ambassador but one of the most overrated recruits and players I've ever come across.

Gibson doesn't seem like he fits LSUs system but neither do Jennings or Harris I guess so what's one more spread QB?

Not right now, maybe in two years. He has the tools to be an unreal QB, if he can develop them. He's 6'4, ridiculous arm, decent accuracy, and can run like the wind. He needs a lot of work though. If he gets developed, he can be an unreal QB, and serious pro prospect since our offense actually has been more based off the pro style system. If it doesn't work out, he can easily be an outstanding receiver.

To me, getting him is good not just because he's an elite athlete, but to have depth and options at a position we were paper thin at last season.

This ^

It seems that for the last few years we have a bad year after a senior QB leaves. Ill be happy to see that potentially come to and end.

Plus, Gibson is the kind of talent you can use elsewhere if he doesn't develop as a QB. His size makes him a much bigger threat as a receiver than Russell Shepard was.

You want to sign QB's every year, we get this kid for 2 reasons.
1. We dont have the luxury of only getting the perfect matured prostyle guy cause 90% aernt prostyle.
2. We havent had the QB success to pass on depth, if Cam thinks he can be a QB & the kid wants to play in our NFL prep system let him.

Seems almost certain for a RS, although he likely wouldn't be told that (or would he?). Seems perfect timing for BH to be leaving for Gibson's RS Soph season.
