How would you rate the quality of players produced in LA based on position?

Louisiana has the highest or nearly the highest per capita NFL players produced among all states. I was think about which positions does LA produce the most quality players.

My list from highest to lowest is:

1. DB
2. DL
3. WR
4. RB
5. OL
6. QB
7. LB

I'd have to say switch RB and WR. LA has put out some damn good running backs the past few years.

Might even be above the DL honestly. Finding running backs has never been an issue and most of them come from in the state. So I'd say

1. DB
2. RB
3. DL
4. WR
5. LB
6. OL
7. QB

I'd probably put LB in front of QB.

With all the talented RBs in LA, how many became NFL stars? I think there were more star WRs produced than RBs. Just my opinion.

A few RBs: Both Faulks, Anthony Thomas, Warrick Dunn, Hilliard.

A few WRs: Ike Hilliard, Reggie Wayne, Wallace, Doucet, Davis.

I did have LB ahead of QB but I started to think about all the NFL QBs like both Mannings, Brister, Ferguson, Delhomme, Hebert, Bradshaw, and Stewart. I really can't think of many LBs.

One could argue here and there but thats a good list critter. Fournette and Hill lately have been terrific but before that it was always tough to find enough elite RB's or LB's in state.

Number of players in the NFL and recruiting rankings are the only to ways we can analyze qualify if player that the state produces. I prefer counting the number of NFL players produced because every year recruiting services miss on LA prospects who turn out to be superstars. The weird thing about LA is that we always have very good high school RBs but we don't produce very many AA or even NFL RBs. Jeremy Hill and Leonard Fournette could change the recent drought. Even Kenny Hilliard and Alfred Blue could be a good NFL back. The next few years will be interesting when LSU RBs leave for the NFL.
