I've been shadowing the board since probably October and I feel like everyday there's a new person you guys are discussing that I've never heard of. So I was curious, what's the best way to follow recruiting? Are pay sites the way to go or is there a better way?
TIA

If you don't want to pay just follow this board regularly.

If you want to pay and get the same info quicker and alot more of it, sign up for 247

There are four main recruiting services out there (Rivals, Scout, ESPN, and 247).

-Rivals is the best for general, nationwide recruiting coverage.
-247 is the best for LSU-related recruiting coverage.
-Scout is decent at both, but not better than Rivals at nationwide or 247 at LSU.
-ESPN does the bare minimum. If a prospect is scheduled to make appearances at ESPN-sponsored camps and other evaluation events, and most importantly, the Under Armour game, they take the evaluation further than they would for any other prospect.

You can go to Rivals.com and view their list of top players for free. Also, NOLA.com has the top 2014 players in LA list already.

Read this board daily and you get all you need.
Plus you can as Howard Cosell used to say experience the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat. After a while you will recognize the guys in the know and the one's like me who are lurkers and just here for info. Lot of time look at the number of post and the one's with the very large numbers are usually in the know. Kind of fun after a while cause you get to see the product of recruiting actually hit the field. Some are stars and some not so much but it's fun to see them develop and later follow their pro careers.

I've got a question regarding the pay sites:

Are you restricted to one team when you subscribe?

I know it's a homer question but I'd like to know because when I click on a VIP article at Geaux247 or TigerBait, I'm not sure if I would be restricted to just LSU recruiting, although I'm not interested in other school's recruiting other than if it involves a target for the Tigers.

It's not a priority to me to subscribe now but I would like to know as a future reference. I really like following here and reading what memphis, red, et. al. provide and I appreciate every bit of everyone's time, effort, and resources that they share on the RB.

Thanks guys!

Don't just lurk, like red said don't be afraid to ask questions.
And following recruiting its so much more exciting when you see them actually play because you know alot about what they were like out of high school and what they've improved at since their last year of HS
