How bad was Bama & UGA's QB recruiting that they each started true FR this year?

Perhaps the thinking is that freshmen can be expected to come in right away and compete. And how will any Bama QB commit feel about going to a school that has a true freshman about to win a title for them? Perhaps their current QB commit is ripe for the taking...thoughts?

Bama in the last 5 years until now has had a revolving door of veteran QBs that produced, despite having multiple OCs. They are the worst example for this type of discussion.

Well, Coker was a transfer...and Blake Sims was a converted RB.

Orgeron better put a coordinator and a qb on a dotted line quick or this hire will go to shite before he coaches a game.

And Simms was already at Bama, left and came back. So he was already familiar with their system.

Well. Georgia sucked.
Alabama has an all star line to work behind.

SO assuming our line isn't light years better next year, a team led by a freshman QB is probably going to suck.

Hey, I'd love a freshman QB like Hurts to come in and start for us. That guy is as cool as a cucumber and a stud rushing the ball. Smoove, fast, and great decision maker, but still a freshman and he made some freshman mistakes. Still, how good will he be next year. Scary good.

if Miles was the coach and Cameron was the OC, I would tend to agree. With a new offensive staff and system, I would keep an open mind. Granted, I like Etling a lot...I am not necessarily talking about this coming year.

No, he didn't. Blake Sims never left.

Being an early enrollee, never visiting BR, and reaffirming his commitment says otherwise.

Except said recruit has already come out and said he has no interest in LSU, is not taking any visits, and is enrolling at Bama in a month. The recruit is not ripe for the taking. Stop using hypotheticals and look at reality. We've got a dumbass running our program, you really think he's got some multifaceted masterplan in motion here?

Perhaps they beat out other great recruits and it is an anomaly ....comparing georgia and Alabama qb recruiting to lsu history of late is not comparable.

or how about how good were those two freshman QBs?

I mean one was the best QB coming out of HS and the other is up for a Heisman ....

You're thinking of Phillip Sims I think. He lost the QB battle with AJ then transferred out. Blake was at Bama for like 5 years and mostly did mop up duty.

That appears to be the biggest point in LSU's favor and I did think how can Tua be expected to come in and beat out Hurts immediately?
