Here Is Why Everyone Needs to Calm Down about Cam Robinson

For one thing, I choose to be optimistic and I think he comes to LSU. He got Cam Sims a scholarship to Alabama and that is set. So, now he is free to do what he wants. His mom wants him to stay home. He has a chance to start right away and do something special. I think he stays here.

But, if he does go to Alabama, everyone needs to chill. Here's why:

La'el Collins was the #6 rated player in the country a few years ago when we got him. He was a LT. He came to LSU and has been really good, but he didn't win us any championships. Maybe he will this year. But, here is the thing. We have recruited really well on the OLine. Between Pocic and Clapp and Brumfield and others, we are going to be just fine.

As great as Robinson is, it isn't like we would replace him with a slouch. If he grades out at 100% and the guy that we get to put in that place grades out at 92%, have we really lost that much in the vast scheme of things? We aren't Western Kentucky or Troy or something and hoping that the great talent picks us because we will have nothing else. If he goes to Alabama, we will be fine.

We are recruiting at a high level. I know that this has been said in other threads, but the chicken littles are all over the place and I am sick of sifting through the negativity to find a positive comment here and there.

LSU will be fine and at the end of the day, this decision will not make a big difference one way or the other . . . . unless he picks LSU, which means CHAMPIONSHIPS!

I actually like our OL depth right now too.

I won't bother discussing cam though.

I know mom wants him to stay home, but what is the driving distance between Monroe to Tuscaloosa compared to BR?

Yeah, yeah. Ok. I did last night. The meltdown is full on. Trying to establish a positive take on this. The admins can whack this if that isn't wanted. I'm fine with that.

3 hours from WM to Baton Rouge, but it's thru a ton of small towns. WM to Bama is 4.5 but its straight I-20.

It takes you 4 hours to drive 189 miles?

But only 30 min longer to drive 115 miles further?

I understand having Crob in this class will be a great get but I remember last year Josh D with two broke down knees shut down the greatest DE this world has ever seen, clown knee. I just don't see a true fr coming in and taking a spot from LC or JH anyway.

Like I said, you have to go down to 35 a ton from Rayville to Natchez. After Natchez you can fly all the way to St Francisville. Bama is straight I-20 all the way.

Maybe championships are more important to the kid than staying close to home. The kid really can't go wrong with either choice.

I did a MapQuest search on it.

However, doing it again I looked at the second route, which is 3 hours 58 minutes. The first route is 3 hours 37 minutes.

My bad.
