radio: Knoxvegas sports talk host says he is hearing that UT will be recruiting in Georgia and Louisiana, with interest being shown to 14 of the top 25 (their take) in our beloved homeland. Not that there is anything surprising about that.

tenn has always recruited Louisiana, why would it be any different now?

Unfortunately, Tennessee is a somewhat more attractive place to play than Ole Miss, so I would view this as a definite threat. To have 14 of the top 25 players targeted coming from Louisiana is a definite threat.

Tenn was successful in GA, when UGA was average at best in the 90s. UGA offers a much better option these days. What UT is banking on is playing time and a "new order" right now. As long as UGA continues to win , UT will not be able to pick and choose out of GA.

We'll get our share of local recruits and a couple will get away. It use to be the other way around. Basically we get most of the top players, LSU football is evolving as it should.

They have no recruiting base in Tenn with all the inbreeds so they have to go out of state for new blood. Not surprising. Doesn't matter they will be on probation within 2 years.

Tennessee has been taking non-LSU second tier talent for several years now.
Wade, Lucas Taylor, Rolando Melancon, etc. and they all had one thing in common.
If they continue to hit the jackpot with kids the likes of Janzen Jackson (and that is unlikely unless they all have the Lance Guidry recessive trait), then I would not be overly concerned.

Kiffin and staff have offered a lot of schollies to prospects in Cali and the West Coast in general.
Makes sense though-- that is his old stomping grounds (and Ogereon too).
