My concern is - he's awfully tall - 6'3" or 6'4" - I know LF7 made that work, but normally height past 6'1" starts to be a disadvantage for a running back.

Probably why Bama wants him at linebacker.

seen this several times. If he can be taught to get & keep his pad level low, then it shouldn't be a problem. Now, if he doesn't... it works even more against him.

Additionally, I've seen several say he does run straight up.

That kids a great athlete Andi know Canada had a big guy (Connor, I tjink) at pit that did well.

It's a change of pace from what we normally have. Straight ahead type runner, does really outrun anyone on that tape, too end speed is not great, IMO

I trust our coaches, but I don't see feature back in him.

I'm not concerned about his height, a tall back can be productive.... A 4.7 40 RB in the SEC is concerning however.

I have been saying this for a while but he runs faster than a 4.7 he is a mid 4.5 RB.

Yep. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't hold offers from every SEC team plus schools like USC, UCLA, Texas Mich St and Arizona St if he wasn't very good.

For comparison, how about Jeremy Hill. 6-2 220-235 depending on site. He ran a 4.66 at the combine. He was plenty fast when he was at LSU.

He was also ran straight up.

Joiner will also put on weight, he has the frame of a LB/ DE (not saying he puts on 50lbs). He he's still growing even before Moffitt gets a hold of him.

IMO, he won't be a tailback at LSU after year 1.

TE or Hback
