4tds sounds good, but 19 of 43 passing that doesnt sound very efficent.

From what I saw, His line gave him no time, and his recievers didnt do him many favors. Running games wasnt great either

JJ couldn't throw for 260 yards in 3 games last year. Don't care about the attempts

Yeah, he's not surrounded by talent at every position. But if you watch his game, you can see that he has the tools.

The best stat was no INT's, for many reasons...mostly shows maturation at the position.

Yeah the announcer kept saying the receivers were nervous and would be better once they settle down after the first game. The WR's in the first half probably dropped 25% of the passes he threw.

Dude looked legit on in his first game this year. he good

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Matt Barkley had a terrible senior year. The guy has talent.

Didn't watch the game and it's already been stated but everyone I've talked to that watched the game said that his receivers and offensive line were garbage but he still managed to look very impressive. I can't get over how lucky we are to have both him and Jennings.

The announcer on Jennings' game said Mr. Andrews was nervous about being surrounded by so much youth!

I just hope rettig survives the season. If you watched the game, it's obvious how he got hurt last year.

Their coach should really run it more or he's gonna get rettig killed. His WRs did drop about 12 passes, no exaggerating.

i wouldnt put too much into his comp% this game or any game really.. 4 td's 0 int's is great. We need to be looking at how many TD's, Int's, and yardage per pass IMO..

His receivers were not up to the task. After watching the game on YouTube I was impressed that even with little protection early on he was largely on target and not bothered too much by the rush. The Locke team blitzed every play in the first couple of series until HR's coach burned em with some screens and draws. I was actually amazed at his ability to avoid the rush without taking a sack or taking off running.

Several times in the first half the announcers made note that he could be almost perfect if his receivers were catching the ball. It was not that good but he put it where it needed to be.

Tonight,,
Craig Loper II,,, "Can already see in two throws Rettig has a cannon for an arm. Spins the ball, accurate, drives it down the field. #LSU has a good QB comin"
7:29 PM - 30 Aug 12, Craig Loper II..."Hayden Rettig w/ another TD pass. This one from 23 yards out. Gives him 4 on the night and it's still the first half."
