He looks good, but how exactly does he remind you of Jamarcus Russell?

I hope we have been on him. He is the top player in Arkansas.

lol, not sure about that.

But he does throw a pretty deep ball.

It's Jeff Blake-esque

This kid plays in by far the worst region of high school football in Arkansas in a lower level at that 2A so he is a boom or bust type.Saw him at a combine over the summer and he has some tools but is extremely raw. He's more Brandon Harris than Russell.

I'd take him based off physical attributes alone. Can be a possible nick Fitzgerald type player and maybe we can run a true wild cat system with him

I like him. Sounds like he had a good visit too. I don't know a lot about Arkansas HS football. Is it pretty competitive?

I don't see the JRuss comparison though.

He's athletic. Needs some coaching on his release. He tends to wind up too much when he throws. I'd be more confident if I knew we had coaches that were good at modifying QB's mechanics.

Definitely has the physical tools, but the level of competition in those highlights was dreadful. He is really going to have to go camping to prove his value.

correct. I've seen him play twice (games). I suspect he's raw, but they definitely have designed their offense around him, which means he's doing a lot which could make him less raw.

The level of competition is crap. Earle is tiny. Think 'delta', as in MS delta and you'll get the idea. There are some great HS programs, e.g. Pulaski Academy in Little Rock. Earle (or anyone in it's division) are a far cry from it. To be 100% convinced he will have to camp and combine for the coaches. The next step is to find a way to get him to a LSU camp.

Earle is close to Memphis, well... closer to Memphis than anything else unless you count Bald Knob. So OM is the 'local school', advantage LSU. Arky is literally across the mountains on the other side of the state and they don't really focus on schools out that way. Schools out there are LSU's Wisner and Waterproof.

Him physically is very impressive. And this isn't a RB chunking the ball. He is a QB. He's probably very raw in regards to sophistication, and such things as reading the field. But he is NOT one people are looking at as a S or TE, he is being recruited by almost every program as a QB (at least right now) because of the QB talent and the body. Worth noting damn good agility for a large QB with upside.

ETA: I've been wishing LSU would go after him since before the season. Not soley based on him either. Mainly I'd say he's 'worth the risk' because this is a good year for it with Narcisse redshirting and knowing either he or Brennan WILL be starting next year. Combine that with what we've deduced about what Canada wants and Fields committing to UGA... the timing is perfect.

I've thought he'd make a really good OLB, but he seems dead set on playing QB.

His recruitment has been a little all over the place. First he was trending to Mississippi State, then Baylor, and now it seems like LSU. Thought he would commit to Baylor honestly but seems like a good kid that is weighing all of his options before deciding. Visiting here on Nov. 4 I believe.

You do understand high school classification has nothing to do with talent level right?
