Just read an article on rivals and his top 3 is LSU, Florida and USC. He just recieved an offer from Texas and said it's really just another school that offered me right now . I can't be the only person that finds it very odd that alabama is not in his top 3.

Big bro can't be happy riding the pine at Bama, pretty sure that wasn't in Burton Burns' recruiting pitch He was even supposed to be playing a little bit of running back in addition to defense

Landon Collins said he knew he wouldn't start right away at Bama and even criticized LSU for telling him he'd start freshman year.
He also said that he knew he'd never play RB.
I don't think it's with Landon being unhappy unless he's home sick. But I think it's more about the family having a bad taste in their mouth from the way Landon's recruitment went down.
I imagine Bama will get in on him pretty quick.

Yeah that is bit odd...it's still a long way until February 2014 though. I feel good about our chances too.

LSU, USC and UF also all use 4 down linemen in their base D. That may have something to do with it as well, I'm sure he'd be a 5 tech at Bama which maybe isn't something he's sold on right now. I'm aware Bama uses 4 man fronts as well, just speculating...

I just hope his recruitment doesn't go anything similar to how his brothers went. If he decides on another school, I hope we know a bit earlier. If we are not going to land him, he can take the Denzal (sp?) route and I would be extremely happy.

Won't believe he's a Tiger until he signs. He's probably just messing with people by not having Bama in there.

Couldn't disagree with this more. The kid is on record saying he loves some LSU. I think he ends up here and we would love to have him.

Link?
All I remember hearing is how Landon would see the field from day 1

No link, but you probably heard this from Bama fans. Saban sells players on the process, which means he'll have them ready to play before they see the field.

I am not arguing with you here, but this is kind of ironic. We have how many freshman getting playing time on D right now? haha

I think we get willis III. the family angle to LSU is very important. lc can't be happy with yeldon and cooper get pt and he is on bench.

what the hell does playing time for a safety have to with a RB and a WR?

Bama had Dix, Vinnie, Lester, maybe Perry and another safety or 2 already on campus when lc got there. They were thinner and less experienced at RB and WR.

Anyone who thinks LC is unhappy right now is reaching. He's seeing the field some on ST and mop up for the #1 team in the nation as a freshman.

eta: im not buying a word about Willis III until he signs on the dotted line.

This happened. Maybe he sees now, his criticism wasn't needed. If he comes to LSU, and battles Ronald Martin (who has gotten a few starts due to Loston's lingering issues), and wins the job, LC may have gotten some starts.

Not according to the rivals article released today. I would link it but it's premium. They did say his top 3 keeps changing tho but at this moment alabama is not in it.

lc may not start next year. no way bama told him it would take 3 years to start. i'm sure gerald and parents know what was pitched to lc and whether it was bullshite or reasonable. what are they pitching gerald now and how will it look if he doesn't start next year.
