Ive never been a huge fan of signing multiple stud QBs in the same class. Seems like it usually winds dividing the fanbase, the players, and maybe even the coaching staff. I'd rather just sign a stud every class if possible(I know it's not that easy). Regardless of LSU 's strategy, though, it seems most of these guys now want to play early and don't want another stud in their own class. QB is such a unique position since ideally, only 1 really plays every year.

That said, if we go after both Franks and Patterson hard, which one of the two is likely to explore other options? Or, if we are forced to choose, who do we go with? By "we," I obviously mean Les and staff.

I think Shea is more likely to stay. The coaches will take whichever one wants to be here and let them sort the pecking order on the field.

Patterson, but I understand why these threads are no good prior to signing. Franks may go pro baseball?

Compare players after they have signed

I think what the OP is trying to say is that it would be better to stagger players by class.

That doesn't mean if you have two talented guys in the same year who want to sign and compete, you turn one down.

Patterson in a walk. He looks like a Peyton Manning type but also with pretty good mobility to throw and react on the run and with good field vision once his main target is not open.

We are gonna try to take both but its an interesting debate if we did have to choose.

Franks already committed and doesn't seem to be looking around at all. Baseball is an option as of now so we have that worry. Franks is the better upside player of the 2 and has better pro potential. He's raw and needs coaching.

Patterson is better by far eight now and is almost set to be a major impact qb at the college level. Don't think he's a sure fire type pro prospect(neither is Franks but Franks has more positives ). Our offense would need to change for Patterson's skills to be evident and fully used. He's precise and would benefit being in a quick, paced passing game with the run sharing the load.

2 things that make the decision tough.
Patterson is building a group to take with him. Kids from LA. Now not all will go with him OOS or to the same school but you could easily see 2-3 guys go with him. More importantly is that he'd be majorly helpful in LSU landing that group if he were going to LSU.Easier to keep a group home than to convince them to leave.

Franks is committed while Patterson isn't. Do you press Patterson at the expense of Franks without knowing Patterson is in? Kid is very intrigued by USC and Ole Miss and could leave us standing at the alter. So basically do you choose a bird in the hand or to chase one?

Just land both and let it sort itself out.
