I've heard it's between LSU and MSU.

How do you guys feel about getting him?

No flame.

I'm just wondering where he is on our board compared to Torodney Prevot and Tim Williams.

Seeing two DEs talked about as top 10 picks sure does have some heads turning. We're killing the d-line recruitment right now.

From what I gather, I'd say he's most likely LSU bound. That could obviously change, but that's my feeling right now.

Y'all are very confident even after Herron didn't make it to Bayou Blast.

"He also showed me all the things I could do and about playing early because of what the depth's going to be like after next year," Herron said of Chavis. "I think I could fit right in with their program. They play a 4-3 just like we do. I actually play somewhat like Keke Mingo. He drops off into coverage but can also use his speed off the edge and rush the passer."

"LSU's got the same defense we run," Herron said. "They like to move people around. Coach Chavis told me I would be a good fit because of my mobility."

I'm still confident about it. But, he hasn't given hints one way or the other, so I won't be shocked if he chooses MSU.

I trust that Chavis can pull anyone in the country he wants.

We don't have any clues either other than a HS teammate and friend who signed with us in basketball.

I think it's a coin flip. With y'all having the advantage in prestige and facilities and State having the advantage of early PT.

How successful have you guys been in Memphis over the past few years?

We haven't really had much luck here in Memphis. I think we've only pulled two under Mullen and Redmond being the only 4 star. Bundy will correct me if I'm wrong.

We also were the very first to offer and we are closer to home.

if it's an advantage that you guys have on PT, then it can't be that much. with Mingo and Montgomery set to leave after 2012, and i think edwards is a senior as well, the depth chart is pretty favorable for some young guys to get into the mix very early on in 2013 and beyond.

We hardly ever go after Memphis kids, so it would be hard to say one way or the other.

Maclin is the only one to come to mind and he was a 4 star.

Redmond and Bohana. However we have signed some players from DeSoto county right across the line in MS

I too think we get herron but I also think he is a borderline guy with us this year. we are seriously after Williams and Prevot, add in patterson and herron is not a BIG deal for us. other de available.

Gino also seems to be very sure we sign Herron.

We will have a nice tidbit coming on June 1, 2012 to help show how the Super six is rounding out.

Look for big news to be dropping in the next few days, as it is no secret LSU has every intention of completing certain position groups as quickly as possible, especially since the coaches are already starting to identify their 2014 targets. The strategy is to fill the 2013 class as soon as possible, than launch a full scale attack on the 2014 class.

This may be nerdy as hell but this sentence excited me.
