The woman's reaction when he hits him is awesome.

Rare for anyone to take a fb. I know Miles does, but I imagine it would be even rare for Miles to take two fullbacks.. unless one was projected to play another position.

After watching his hudl the only position he could play at LSU is FB. at best he is a scout team DE and I did not see any film of him at TE and he is slow.

I don't know a thing about this kid but he smells like a displaced Middle line backer !

It's been well known that Benny wouldn't commit to playing here. Wants to do his own thing. As do all of Miles' kids.

Last year has to have played a part. I wouldn't sign with a school that tried to fire my dad, and possibly may try again during my four years.

Coaches certainly know more than me, but I am confused by this one...
I felt the the same when H. Shipley committed, but maybe this is completely different...

Wonder if that means no Ben Miles is this class.

My first thought as well. No,way you bring in 2 unless Ben pays his on way. I heard his old man is loaded.

Maybe so, but not for the reason you think. First, I wouldn't really want to be the coach's kid on a team just because there could be friction with teammates if they perceived any nepotism. Second, no coach will be at a school forever--they may leave for another job, retire, get the ax, etc. If you sign on to play for your dad and then he leaves acrimoniously, then it might be weird for the kid to still be there.

I doubt last year's drama plays too heavily into his thinking because Les came out of it more beloved than ever. Ben may just want to go his own way and I'd cheer him on if he does. (I'll cheer him on if he comes to LSU, too, of course)

This is the one area of LSU's recruiting that always bothers me. Les loves to give scholarships to guys at positions where walk-on's could easily (and have) fill those roles: Kicker, FB, long snapper. LSU seems to give out a scholarship to a kicker in every class. Yet, the kicking duties have been handled well by walk-on's for the last 5 years. The last two FBs were walk-on's (Moore & Neighbors). Both performed well. Before that, you had a converted DT who did a fine job.

There are plenty of local HS kids who are just a bit too small to play DL or TE, or too slow to play LB or safety at LSU to warrant a scholarship. However, many of those kids would love to walk on as a FB just to be a part of the LSU team. With only ~25 scholarships available in a class why not take a flier on a borderline SEC prospect at another position of greater emphasis? Every year we seem to see a DL, or LB, or some other position player that LSU "just didn't have room for". Yet, part of that room is taken up by a K or FB

This early in the recruiting process, I find it questionable. We could be struggling to find scholarships around March next year.

Congrats to the kid, but it really just proves LSU is never moving away from the run 80% , throw awkward 20% of the time. Yes, there will be outliers, but if the offense was to actually evolve, the FB position would be extinguished. I don't like recruiting guys that fit this physical role. Nothing at all against the kid, and he's done more than I ever could, but I was hoping they would take a different approach.
