The first 5 quarters were beyond cringeworthy, and I was beginning to worry about an atrocious offense that would scare anybody. However, the offense we're currently running with Etling makes me feel a lot better about Brennan coming here. I don't doubt Brennan has the skill set to do the little things to keep the chains moving. I think he can make all the throws he'll need to be a successful QB with the weapons around him. Our play calling has been much better, and I didn't expect to see two reverse passes in the first half. We're a completely different offense with a confident QB who can go through reads and find an open receiver, TE, or check down.

Speaking of which Brennan now has thrown 187 passes this season without an INT.

1,648 yards
18 TD
216 yards, 4 TD rushing

The thing that makes this messed up is from all accounts QB's that have been successful under miles(flynn,Mett,Etling??) are mostly drop back guys with average running ability. My Question why is Miles recruiting Spread Guys/dual threat(JJ,harris,Anthony J.) that dont seem to fit this pro style offense. If miles is fired i believe this may be his undoing. I do believe Brennan would be great in this system though. A gunslinger that will stand in the pocket then go thru his reads to find the open receiver. I believe this guy could have at least 3 Mett(good year) like seasons at LSU with the weapons here.I really hope this guy gets on campus.

You can't ignore a 4 star qb in your backyard. Could you imagine the fan base if Harris went to A And M and was good? Also, you have to create relationships with the high school coaches in the area, and spurning their star qb isn't the way to do it.

What's really exciting is knowing that Brennan will get to sit next year and learn preparation and leadership from Etling.

Brennan is already a film rat...his HS coach works closely with him about game prep...but I agree with your thought...

Etling's going to be a 5th year senior with very few classes so he'll live in the film room. I can see him and Brennan forming a nice mentor relationship in the film room.

I think B Harris is more drop back than Etling he's just not there mentally. I think he's too scared to mess up.

sucks that Harris struggled so much cause his arm is rare, but Etling's success will really help keep Brennan, Lowell & the WR's we have committed on board

I agree. I think we're safe either way. Its interesting that he hasnt picked up any new offers since we offered (other than Ole Miss). He did well at the Elite 11, yet things have been quiet. Some school may have shied away due to his slight frame. I think our pursuit was a smart move as that weight gain is a easy fix. With Shea Patterson in wait at Ole Miss, and the fact that they are bringing in two in this class, we look like the best offer on his list. Lets hope that the recruiting trail stays quiet for him. lol!!! All december and january is crazy as far as last minute QB recruiting.

Takes a lot more than a live arm to be a good QB.

You are exactly correct... and that is why Brennan is the missing piece to the LSU QB puzzle... I am close to the Stanislaus program and I have had the honor to watch him play for three years. You are right it takes more than a strong arm to play QB in the SEC. IE: BH. Need I say more. But take it from someone who is close to Stanislaus and has watched Brennan for 3+ years, you have no idea how good he is until you see him live and not just in one game but over a 3 year career. If Brennan was given the time that Etling has gotten the last 2 weeks he would have thrown for 400 yards in each game... Its all relative. He will be the same QB for LSU as he is for Stanislaus, give the play calling....

Things have been quiet because of his unwavering commitment to LSU. Would you want it any other way????

Once again, if we hold this class together, the program will win at least one NC....this is the best QB and OL class I can remember, bar none! And the DL will build quality dept...all is left is to secure the right LBs and we will be set for the NC run...guarenteed!

Its the same offense. We just have a QB in Etling, like Mett, who can run it effectively.

Well I have the privilege and the time to go to Stanislaus practices ever so often. They let me in cause I went there. Today is one of those days. During practice Myles Brennan in 3 offenses drive circuits is 33 for 36 and has driven his team up and down the field. He then turned around and ran scout O because their next opponent throws the ball. He threw 27 for 31 against his own defense. The point I am making is that he practices what he does everyday, all day, every practice, all practice. It is engrained in his brain to be a pro style pocket passer. Wherever he does he will do exactly the same thing all day long....

Cajun Catfish is Brennan one of the best high school quarterbacks you have watched?
