no real changes on LSU commits. Still 9 of the 150. No one moved down.

Pratt, Ford, Minter and Calhoun moved up a slot or 2 each.

dont expect too many honest comparisons since one is committed to LSU and the other to USC

I'd rather a great pocket passer in the SEC, but I love Shep's natural ability and attitude

Considering the amount of talent surrounding our QB position, I'd go with Barkley, but I am damn happy to land an athlete with Shepard's skill and attitude

Given that which one is more talented and/or will contribute more in college is debatable, I'll take the one who can't wait to be an LSU tiger. California can keep their abercrombie model QBs.

Ill take Shep. Ill tell you why. Barkley is great and will be great but each and every year there are many great Pocket passers availabe. Players like Shep rarely come around. Now, Barkley is the better QB at this time but Shep could develop into the kind of pocket passer a team needs. Barkley will never be able to develop into a duel threat. Duel threats open up the playbook for you. These days, more and more teams are using 2 QB to supplement the offense. We have or will find the pocket qb we need even if Shep doesnt develop into one. There are plenty each year. Time will tell.

Shep with Lache in the option would be my first choice.

In USC's pro-style offense, I'd much rather have Barkley. In LSU's offense, where the QB runs a bit more, I'd rather have Shep. Can you really go wrong with either of these guys? The 2009 recruiting class is pretty loaded

RS as an Athlete.
Barkley as a QB.

So which one would you rather have? For me I take RS, as an earlier poster stated, it is difficult to predict the success of pocket passers when they move up levels, may have trouble.

Players like RS may not be able to play QB, but his athleticism, and instincts are not going anywhere, and can play many positions.

For LSU and their position right now, I think RS is the best choice. Now in a year or two a pro style passer may be nice.

Well, since we already have a commit from Gibert, as of right now I'd rather have Shep.
