Damn Project, that's cold. Enjoyed you and Tool's posts on SEC Rant re Keil and Miles!Saved me a post.
Bernie, Bama offered all of these players and if they chose not to take the offer and Bama retracted so what? I don't know what your point is but if you think that Bama would have not taken:
1-Beckwith
2-Bain
3-Brazil
4-Diarse
5-Gilmore
6-Herron
7-Pocic
8-Rickey Jefferson(offer was widely known)
9-Jennings
10-Desean Smith
11-Tradavious White
12-Logan Stokes-(stated Bama came after him after he committed to LSU)
13-Dodd-(WAS a Bama commit til he switched to LSU)
14-Jones
15-Lacouture
You tell me who Bama wouldn't have taken? Some right up to signing day.
I mean what is your point dude? All you are trying to do is attempt to detract from LSU and it's obvious that you hate LSU. That still doesn't change the fact tht LSU has a top 5 class and DOMINATED Louisiana in recruiting this year.
Do you honestly believe that LSU signd a bunch of players who are retreads or something?
Regarding your question about me being recruited out of high school, well yes I was but I am 57 years old and that's ancient history and things are much different now than they were then.
LSU is a NATIONAL BRAND as much so as anyone. LSU proved this by going all over the country and picking up top rated players from California to Georgia and North Carolina and from Florida to New Jersey. So what is your point?

Stripes,I love the LSU class. You are getting info from a recruiting site.Had those 16 commited to Bama, which of Bama's 16 signees would not have been offered by Bama.
How do you know who had a commitable offer? Please answer my questions!

I just answered your stupid question. Offers are commitable when they are given. Some longer than others. Beckwith could have accepted all the way to signing day. Others may not be valid as soon as other players at their positions accepted first as some offers are basicly first come first serve.
If a team needs 2 DBs and offers 6 then the first two who accept the offer fill the spots. If other wait too long or are not interested that still does not change the fact that an offer was extended.
Some players due to their perceived value and skill level are given offers which will be held until the last minute. Beckwith was in this category.
Now, I will submit to you to tell me who Bama chose to take over Bekwith as they were holding an offer for him? Who did Bama go get to fill the spot left vacant when Dodd flipped to LSU? You make no sense.
Incidently, this is not a pay site. If you don't like them, fine but I believe Scout or Rivals far more than I believe some anonymous McNeese State fan.
Good Lord.

That's like planning to add on a second garage, and not having a car.
The Big XII is dead and everyone seems to know that except, TX and ESPN. OU is no longer even in the discussion.

Haven't followed this whole thread, but will say a couple of things.
First, forget about a La pipeline. UT might need to re-establish its in-state pipeline, given how A&M is rising, how Bama has come in and taken some nice recruits and how LSU has Paris committed and is considered in great shape for Brown and other Texas prospects like Koda Martin, Brandon Simmons, Keenan Brown, etc.
The issue with UT recruiting under Mack, at least up until recently, is that if a top in-state recruit seemed cool to Texas early in the process or didn't jump on an offer quickly, they'd move on instead of fighting for the recruit. I think it was reported that Muschamp took issue with Mack over this approach when he was at Texas. Maybe Mack thought UT could afford to do so because of how talent-rich the state normally is, but I don't think that practice plays well at a time that A&M appears resurgent and LSU, Bama, OU and others are looking to pluck players.
UT needs to move MB to a cushy admin position and bring in another head coach who is hungry and willing to battle over the top recruits to the end. I do think when/if this happened, and if UT chose to make a greater recruiting effort in La, they could persuade a good La player now and then to come to the 40 acres, but I doubt they'll ever get to the point that they're raiding La, unless LSU for some reason really stumbles. But really, if they had a new head coach who brought the right energy, commitment and willingness to fight for recruits in-state instead of demonstrating typical UT arrogance, then they'd probably get back to doing well enough with in-state recruiting that they wouldn't need to try to go hard after La recruits.

Project, I'll repeat what I said earlier: I strongly believe that if Williams was all LSU coming out of the gate, LSU not only would have taken him, but would have with enthusiasm.
But Williams' attitude toward LSU helped mold LSU's attitude towards him.
To me, he's a very similar player to Patterson from Winnfield. I don't think LSU has any regrets taking him because he was all LSU and is a kid who will play, like they say, for the name on the chest more than the name on the back.
Bottom line: I think LSU decided Williams wasn't worth the effort he seemed to demand. Which is different from him not bbeing good enough to get an LSU scholarship.
I think Noel Ellis is the same way. Is he good enough to play for LSU? Probably. Is he good enough to be treated like the priority recruit his dad seemed to think he was? Hellz no.

It's really weird actually. They are acting like they are just behind the SEC. Yet not one school finished in the top 10 this year. Not one school is going to start in the top 10 next year. And their recruiting across the board has taken a massive dump vs what the quality of players they have now.
The entire Big 12 gets their recruits from Texas. If the top talent in their primary state is playing in the SEC for A&M, LSU, and Bama, they simply cannot be a good conference. The two things are mutually exclusive. The entire Big 12 signed 32 total 4* recruits and zero 5*s in 2013. Consider that in 2010, those same 10 schools signed 62 4* players and 2 5*s. And if anything, 2014 looks even more bleak so far.
They are quickly turning into ACC-West but are still pointing to glory years for their status.

Well see, they are trying to branch out after Mack's failed "Texas players only" policy. That's the point of this whole heretofore non-existent "pipeline" building effort.

Again u are misinformed, while Alabama is our #1 threat thats all they are. They dont win many battles with us. We had given up on Williams way before Alabama came into the picture. They got Collins and Devall other than that, its been pretty slim pickings over here for Nicky who coached here. If they ran a 4-3 the pickings would be even slimmer.
I dont understand why u continue to think Alabama comes into Louisiana and takes who they want. Again Miles has kept his top talent in La as well as anyone in the SEC. How can u dispute this?
This post was about Texas building a pipeline into La this yr and stealing our top 2014 prospects. This is hilarious at this point in time. With Brown there this is not going to happen period much less next yr. He has been a huge underachiever at the helm of the Longhorns. They are not even the top dog in their own state in recruiting and deservedly so.

Would not be totally surprising if sanctions came to UT, but it would be interesting timing, since the Longhorns latest signing class was one of its worst in recent memory & they are not off to the start they would hope for the 2014 class.
If sanctions did come and the recruiting struggles continued, would the alumni voices calling for Mack to go get even louder?

Houston has a better piprline here than them.
quote:I'll bet my left nut that the fricking AP gets OU or UT in there some how. The Big 12 is the notorious "next year" conference. They'll always have 1 or 2 badass players and shitty teams.

I think TAMU joining the SEC opens up the state of Texas up for SEC recruiting. I honestly can't see UT getting anything but leftovers.
