Awesome to see RSJ is congratulating him. If Jonny keeps pursuing him for basketball, I truly think he switches here

Yea, I am hoping they are buddies. One of those other guys was a Okie State commit.

Andy Dalton and Ryan Mouton (DB Titans) both played at Katy.

thats part of my concern. its very, very public that he tried to commit to LSU. to me, it would be a major embarrassment to have to tell everyone that they wouldn't take me. may affect other recruits in one of our major recruiting areas.

I don't know who is really at fault here but i can see how a recruit who has never been through this process before would think that if you have an offer then you can commit at any time.

Like what Ponamsky said though and what made me wonder at first at the randomness of his commitment, he just came off of a knee injury and they want to see how he runs after healing from it. I figured Frank had gone to see him and just no one mentioned it.

I think Taylor will be a part of this class but he may have to wait a little. I wouldn't be surprised if they sent Frank or Miles went down to Katy sooner than our camp to see him run instead of wait. It does put the staff in a little bit of a predicament like you said, even if it was caused by Taylor's misunderstanding

From what I can gather it seems the staff has every intention of accepting the commitment after he makes it to campus, just that it isn't quite official yet. As someone else mentioned, ZM was the only one who didn't visit. Don't want to set another precedent with the guys we're recruiting now that you don't have to come to camp. He wouldn't be making this so public if the recruiter had given him the "well let's wait and see" speech.

I can understand that. I just hope the kid does and doesn't get embarrassed or upset. This kid is very good and will be a great pick up. After his senior season we will all be thrilled if he is committed to us.

happy to have him aboard, but something tells me this guy never sees the field for us, at least not at tailback. First off every kid that comes out of Katy is damn near as polished as recruits can get, they're like the John Curtis of the houston area, but even more well coached. plus he's already 6'2" and still growing, he's gonna be way too lanky for an SEC rb

Still not understanding how this is allowed to be made so public by our staff. The kid had to have communicated to the staff that he wanted to commit. There is no other way to commit. The coach that spoke with him had to have told him that it will be official when he visits the campus and to go ahead and run with it. Seems like some miscommunication within our staff.

I'm going to take the positive route and go with all of this being just a matter of him visiting and then being official. Otherwise we've got a problem. No way our staff is letting this go this far without communicating with the kid and being okay with him being so public about his intentions.

Also don't get why some of those media bites are suprised at the commit(particularly the CBS one). Don't they know that it's an eval period and coaches are visiting these kids? It's not that hard to visit a kids school and see him runnign and take that as a sign that maybe the kid is alright as far as the knee is concerned. Doctors also keep records and generally know whether a kid has a long term injury problem or not.

They know each other but I'm not sure if their friends are not. I know they have both been very good for a long time.
