Fom the get go there were comments from the TE camp which were indicative that tge kid wanted to go outside the State. TE flirted with A&M and even committed to them I believe.

Anyway I never really thought LSU was a priority for that young man.

Congrats, you should post this on the Tiger Rant where we can bash Miles for his piss poor recruiting through the years.

Etienne has been getting first team reps in practice. Still early, but Clemson likes what they see.

OP lost all credibility when he/she said Miles was not a good recruiter. That's both dumb and uniformed. He was the best recruiter we've ever had.
No one gets every recruit every time. And hindsight is 20/20. Notwithstanding, CLM is responsible for the best aggregation of talent in LSU history and one of the best for any program anywhere ever.

Etienne is the fourth team running back.

Why are we having this discussion?

Right. It's funny how LSU makes a late push and it's all butt hurt but any other school can come calling late and all is well lol

LSU has a pretty good track record with RB's, CLM has had quite a few good ones. I don't think RB is ever going to be a problem for LSU.

DT, OL and QB are the positions we have to be firing on all cylinders from. These are the positions Louisiana does not put out in numbers so we need to keep those homegrown kids and find quality OOS guys.

She also stated that Ed tried multiple times after in home visits and phone calls to get TE to sign with LSU but it was too late because Miles did not make him a priority even when Ed was the RC.

So the kid really wanted to go to LSU but he decided to go to Clemson just to spite the LSU coach that didn't recruit him and got fired. He also spurned the LSU head coach who did make a considerable effort to recruit and who was the current HC when it was time to make a decision? No problem. We've got a true freshman that will get carries in SEC games while Etienne is getting scout team carries.

His highlight tape from high school is electric. I never understood why we slow played the kid. We need multiple backs in last year's class.

The reason was simple. LSU thought that the number one RB in the country was coming (went to FSU instead).

On the flip side, I heard LSU had no chance at Akers when Les was fired. For some reason, Akers had a better relationship with Les and stood a very good chance of coming but when he got fired, he was off to FSU. As much as people love to criticize Les, fans often forget he was one heck of a recruiter and the players loved him.

No. We lost Akers when we did not get Jimbo. I know this for a fact

ETA: not that it matters now. And I agree with how much recruits in general loved Les
