Houston has things we can't offer him. Nothing wrong with that. Good luck to the young man.

He heard about cougars in Houston. The little head did the thinking for the big head.

He most likely doesnt think hes good enough to play in the strongest conference in the country. Or his friends dint care enough about him to realize his potential is in the SEC and influenced him to Houston. Wish him the best.

He would be better off at McNesse or UL Lafayette than Houston

Their 2015 schedule is:

vs. Tenn. Tech
at Louisville
vs. Texas State
at Tulsa
vs. SMU
at Tulane
at UCF
vs. Vanderbilt
vs. Cincinnati
vs. Memphis
at UConn
vs. Navy

Don't see why a bunch of 4 & 5 stars would line up for that. How much national exposure will you really get? Everything you are will be questioned leading up to any draft until you go up against P5 players, IMO. Sure it will work for one or two, but not for much more than that. And as far as the CFP, they're more likely to always be on the outside looking in.

Don't be surprised if Houston hauls in a great class with several high profile recruits. The new staff is selling UH to the Houston market like Howard Schnellenberger did to the Miami kids. They are preaching to the local kids that UH can become a national power if the local Houston area talent will stay home. With a new $250 million stadium and a great staff of recruiters it might could happen. Just sayin.

Yep. New stadium, great recruiting base, and great coach. I think they will do well. Houston should be invited to the Big 12.

They will not be like UM in the 80's and they will not get blue chips on the regular. Oliver is the result of good recruiting chess. But they could easily become another TCU or Baylor if they can get into the Big 12. And the Big 12 would be stupid to not invite them to get a conf title game.

Anyone who has followed recruiting knows that Houston has been working the recruiting trails for years. They don't always land big stars, but they are always in the mix for some. When Sumlin left, they took a bit of a hit, but it looks like they are back on recruits hard.

If anyone remembers, it was an LSU/Houston battle for Herman Johnson.

No kidding..

Jordan Elliot and Ed Oliver.. That's a vicious 1-2. Problem is will they manage to keep them till NSD.

Eric Monroe and McCulloch are the only two Houstoners I'm concerned with right now. Don't care for the other two.
I wonder if they have a shot of getting Isaiah Chambers too.

Hearing they are already trying amend Herman's contract. Things could get very interesting if they lock him up long term.

He's ranked #2. We should still get #3, #7 and #8.
