My parents were divorced when I was his age, not just separated and believe it or not, I still talked to both of them. Shocker, huh?

Except his dad said he hadn't spoken to him... and he does specifically reference his mom in his message. I'm not sure why you are denying this.

Dude is a stud. He should enjoy himself and soak it all in. It's a once in a lifetime deal and I can understand that he might think he shortchanged himself by committing so early.
