The vast majority of them do not pan out in college, as they are strongly oriented to a style of execution in HS which does not condition them for college.

Jameis Winston, Cam Newton and Deshaun Watson are very rare.

Heck, if you plug in Lamar Jackson into the Clemson offense instead of Watson, I'd venture to say Bama wins that game.

It may be that Lindsey Scott is such a guy, if he gets a full chance and is not discounted for his height.

Anyway, the point is that all of the observations about the type of Qb's that beat Bama are accurate.

But not to be overlooked is how incredibly rare they are.

You don't just make a casual observation, plug in a dual threat guy, and voila - wins over Bama.

I hope we can get the right QB into Canada's system. If that is a dual threat, so be it. Bring him and develop him. That would be great. Imagine LSU with such a guy as Watson. Wow. But, If not, I still think we can beat Bama with a QB that is not a super mobile guy.

In Canada we trust.

There are probably MORE DT QBS that pan out in college than Pro.

Its the NFL that Pro QBs shine. Mostly because they 1. age better thus play longer 2. stay in a system longer thus the mental game outweighs the added value of athleticism.

SO if you plug in a DT for another DT? why do you say that? because we beat Louisville? Louisville's line is frickin trash. Clemson's isn't.

Yes he was, goes to show that the OP doesn't know what a dual threat is. He obviously just means "black". How can you have such strong opinion about something you don't even know how to define.

Hopefully the OP understands that he is getting so many downvotes, while you are racking upvotes because his use of inaccurate generalizations. I would agree with some of his points, but they are overridden by over statements.

What does this have to do with recruiting, did not see one recruit name mentioned. Have another down vote.

Actually this is wrong. While the pro style QB still commands the NFL, even those QBs are coming out much more mobile. Mariota was a dual threat, Winston finished high school as a 5 star #1 dual threat with 2500+ rushing yards, Wentz was a dual threat, Russell Wilson, Dak, etc.

You're saying it like pro style QBs aren't the same way. How many 5 star pro style QBs haven't panned out recently?

5 star pro Hackenberg was awful yet the next year, 3 star Mcsorley broke records and took Penn St to the Rose Bowl, and won the Big 10.

5 star Max Browne waited 3 year years to start at USC, he lasted 3 games. He was replaced by 4 star dual threat Darnold who went 9-1 as a starter winning the Rose Bowl.

Dual threat Jerod Evans just posted 4400 yards and 41 TDs and gave VT their first 10 win season since 2011 (and actually first season with more than 8 wins since then also). He was pretty much the entire run game and was the best passer they've had in a long time.

Dual threat Quinton Flowers was ridiculous this year posting 2810 pass yards 1530 rush yards and 42 total TDs, giving South Florida their best season ever. This is the first time they've ever won more than 9 times and they finished 11-2 on the season.

Dabo has won no less than 10 games since 2010 and he's had a top dual threat QB since 2011. The difference in what a pro style Kyle Parker did in 2010 and dual threat Tajh Boyd did in 2011, is HUGE!

Of course we can't just plug a dual threat in and beat Bama, but it's been proven since 2010, that you can't beat them without a dual threat QB. It's been proven since January 2012 that you can't beat them without a spread offense.
