I assume this will be deleted, although not sure why. I know it was posted on the rant, but...

A: Is more appropriate here than there
B: Who reads the rant??

I posted it here and followed with a link this AM, but it was removed for some reason.

Who knows and who cares.

I for one believe taking a moment to acknowledge and thank a legend in the high school coaching ranks of Louisiana belongs on this board rather than a Rant board.

His life revolved around mentoring young men (and women) in school. He established a great connection with LSU through his players that went on to wear purple and gold and represent their state with pride and honor.

I realize that this is a tough question, but does anyone know how many former Rebels attended LSU on a football scholarship? I am sure it is an impressive number.

Great person. Will go down as one of the greats.

Will there be a ceremony at the field?

He repped LSU really hard to his West Monroe players. Love or hate him at the high school level, he was a great friend of LSU. RIP Coach Shows.

Under Shows? Shawn King, LB class of 96 MAC Attack can't remember his name right this second, Tommy Banks, Adam McConathy, Brad Smalling, Rodney Reed, Andrew Whitworth, Brian West, Jason Ledoux, Bradie James, Glentrelle Ware, Luke Sanders, Will Blackwell, Barkevious Mingo, Jordan Allen, Katrina OL from Brother Martin that came to WM for senior year, Paul Turner... Feels like I'm forgetting a couple.

Shows could play a mean round of golf. Guy was a scratch golfer and just as competitive on the course as he was in life and on the field. Shows was awesome. I love that guy.

Glentrelle Ware

I think you mean Shomari Clemons. Although Glentrelle was a beast in his own right...just didn't have the grades.

He was my coach at Pineville High. He was a great man and bled purple and gold. Above all, he helped us all reach our potential. He will be very missed, we lost a great mentor and LSU fan yesterday. RIP Coach!

That is a very impressive list. Great talent in that area, and a big thank you to Coach Shows for supporting the Tiges.

His funeral will have quite the Who's Who? in attendance, I'm sure. All those he coached, plus a boatload of college coaches, too.

Which one was kicked off for standing outside a bar waiting on his ride and cop arrested him for not leaving?

Shomari was kicked off but I don't recall what actually happened.

What a shame that he and his brothers felt the need to go against what Coach Shows wanted for their nephew.
