Actually, I think Gay is gone no matter what. If anything, Philips actually committing means the depth chart just got a little more crowded.
What we need now is Chaisson or Taylor to commit to finish a great LB class.

Exactly - Gay was recruiting Phillips for LSU at the AA game. The two of them are pretty close - wouldn't doubt that they're both coming.

That would be my guess. They hung out together that week of the AAA game in San Antonio constantly discussing the pros and cons of LSU.
