At his opening presser when he was introduced as interim? What's with the shift in philosophy all of the sudden? Is it possible he's already gotten a commitment from a particular OC who prefers dual-threats?

Yes he did, so now we have Coach Medulla Oblongata saying he wants a Pro-Style QB and he wants a Dual Threat QB.

So what that means is HE HAS NO F*CKING CLUE what he wants!!!!

Yeah I'm confused. I thought he said he wanted to run the offense he had at USC but I don't recall a DT QB...

"I do believe nowadays, you have to run the spread offense," Orgeron said. "You have to have dual-threat quarterbacks that can run the ball and throw it. But you have to have someone who knows how to run it.

Saturday in his intro presser he said the way to win is with a Spread along with a Dual Threat QB

Apparently some members on the board hired him on the condition they get to pick the offensive scheme.

At this point -- we have to disregard his comments "Pro style offense" when he took the "interim" job.

His most recent comments as "Head football coach" is that you have run the Spread -- to have a QB who can run and throw.

Follow the below statement:

No way he's an idiot, maybe not an X's and O's guy but he can recruit his arse off and knows which guys to get. I'm okay with this

Bottom line whoever O has coming in as OC is gonna run the spread offense and said O I want that kid we can get him. He has a plan and is starting to execute it. Problem is were used to miles not having a good plan and not recruiting accordingly to implement needed changes on offense. And I'm guessing he's got a verbal from Kiffin that he's probably gonna be our OC

Yes, he said that in the presser. Then, Narcisse started looking elsewhere and took a trip to Memphis and scheduled a trip to Auburn so O crawfished and said he needed a dual threat to run the offense. Then he did an in-house with Narcisse to try to smooth things out.

Who's watched that video recently? Was he saying that they would not change the offense this season just because he took over? Like what he did at USC? Why would he be talking about next year as an interim coach, not knowing if he would be the Head Coach the following year?

It's possible he watched that pro style offense LSU an egg vs Alabama and realized that the teams that have given them the most trouble are the ones that spread them out and use tempo

I think what he is saying, and what I am saying, is that he wants a pro style QB that can run the ball. One with a good arm and can read defenses but can also take off with the ball if the pocket breaks down or a QB run play is called. Narcisse can run or throw while Brennon not as good a runner, but a real good thrower, so either of those two would fit the offense. Etling is pretty good for now though, as he can run or throw.
