Did Bama offer a greyshirt to Hootie? was that why he decomitted?

Saban has not taken La. from LSU. Saban gets a player or two every year, but LSU got most of the players they wanted. The only one Saban got was Robinson. LSU got Jamal Adams instead of Hootie Jones and that was an upgrade. They didn't want Cam Simms. Bama may have taken him to help get Robinson and then they offered a grayshirt to Jones..

I assume he meant to type Smith instead of Jones at the end. Then every Louisiana player would be covered and the statement makes sense.

hootie's decommitment was a ploy to prevent LSU from getting Adams and trying to court two safeties. We were smarter than that.
Look at the timeline. Hootie commits to bama. LSU goes after even better safety and makes serious headway. Hootie decommits and reaches out to LSU. LSU does not answer. Adams gets more and more pro LSU, and pulls the trigger Jan 2. Hootie recommits to bama that night.

It was a typo, he's clearly listing every Louisiana player that went to Alabama and the reasoning, and listed Jones twice instead of listing Smith, who was indeed asked to greyshirt.

its legit. They played a similar game with Marlon Humphrey playing up FSU. He was doing that to sway Chi Dupre while on the official there. It wasn't much of a coincidence that a week later MH surfaced in T-Town for Chi's official and was hanging out with the coaches. Very under the radar type shite. But that's what bama does man. They knew, or though, LSU would try to keep in state kids getting poached at all costs. Had LSU taken the bait, we lose out on Adams.

Another guy who reached out to the LSU coach's only to commit to bama a few weeks later was Johny Dwight as well. I don't know much about his recruitment except that he actually called our coaches. So if were making conspiracy theories I wonder if that was done to try to put our attention on him and pull away from some of our d tackle recruits?

Like the guy said before. It's no theory. As competition gets more fierce expect to see more of this type of shameful garbage. Millions of dollars and jobs are at stake over the school selection of a bunch of high school kids.
