He is listed as a RB, many of the guys here speak of him as a LB as if it were a forgone conclusion.

Can anyone provide the basis for this or is it based on a potential need at LB ?

It's based on the fact he's 250 lbs and a great athlete and could see playing time quicker at LB.

Based on the need for the position and the pure athleticism he has. We are stacked at running back and depleted at linebacker. He could step in and compete for a starting position, not just because of the depth of talent, but because he also has a semester head start over the other potential linebackers we will sign tomorrow.

He was recruited as a RB, and although he said he would be willing to make the switch to LB if they want him to, Miles stated they intend to have him play RB.

I think he will stay at RB unless he's just not what they expected when it comes to practice and playing. Then, if he doesn't do well, he has enough of a skill set and athleticism to make the switch to LBer.

Why not have him try out both during spring? It worked well for myles jack. I realize Jack got hurt last year but that was after he switched to LB full time so I dont think injury worries should stop this. Jacks freshmen year he was all freshmen at both LB and RB and I dont see how we couldnt rotate this guy in at both seeing we are weak at LB and always rotate RBs

especially since he will be here during spring

I think this is a recruiting statement to help keep the current LB commits from looking elsewhere. I could be wrong. He will be a beast at either position. I think he is a better MLB than RB based off of his film.

He won't get PT at RB next year.

We have Fournette, Guice, Williams, and Brossette. And Ducre is there as well and has a very similar size and skill set.

I think he could be an AA at MLB eventually.

I hope it doesn't happen, but I'd expect White to begin as a LB if Fowler flips to Texas. I'm really hoping Fowler sticks though.

What are y'all thoughts on him as a fullback? We have Ducre, who seems like a good running fullback.

Did you have to bring up Fowler?
I'm trying to keep that name silent until the fax arrives.

His aunt works at my gym. I talk to her every week. She says he has no problem switching to LB at LSU. The LSU coaches were very honest with him saying it was no guarantee that he would stay at RB.

Think about the formations and run options with Fournette and White lined up together in the backfield. He is big enough to be a lead blocker/ FB on one play, and can run or possibly catch out of the backfield. The defense couldn't key on just one back.

Ducre is just as big and fast.

Both could be excellent running fullbacks and could both play RB in games to eat up clock. I'm wondering how well both of them can catch out of the backfield and of course blocking abilities.

The problem with either Ducre or White at fullback is that they never played the position in high school, and are not natural lead blockers like BryKeithon Mouton is, since he did play fullback in high school.

On top of that, since we very rarely use the fullback to carry the ball, that would negate the speed and power that Ducre has, and White has even more of.

I believe White can beat our Williams and Brousette for playing time, as he has more size, speed, and ability that either one of them.

Nobody will have much of a feel of what is going on until we start hearing\reading stuff on how spring practices are going, and of course one they start fall practice. My preference is to see White play RB, as the the very large size and good speed he has, is something different than any of our other backs bring to the table.

Or if you are a 225lb linebacker seeing a 6.0 258lb RB coming at you with 4.56 speed maybe you just freak out as he runs over you. Or a 258lb RB coming at you with a 235lb LF right behind him with the ball.

Does White have more speed than Ducre?

Ducre ran a 10.69 in the 100m and 22.28 in the 200m. That is MOVING for 240/250 lbs. Like freakish.

Just outside Benton in Bossier. His aunt is a trip. Her name is Jackie. Moving to LB wouldn't be a problem because I think he played some LB in HS.
