I was at the game. He runs hard and gets the most out of every run. He wasn't the best back in the game (not a knock), but he's only a Soph. Think he's going to be a really good prospect. I wonder if he might be better in a less gimmicky offense- that almost single wing crap is going to get him pounded in the Playoffs.

Yea I was there the spin offense takes so long for a play to develop and all he gets are end arounds I was hoping they'd let him run up the middle more

You come on here after very game with something negative to say.

That gimmicky offense put up over 500 yards rushing last night.

PBS runs motion and misdirection or option on every play. Do they have a gimmicky offense?

What are the chances in a few years of us seeing players from Catholic starting at multiple positions for LSU's offense? Like a starting QB, running back, wide receiver, and a lineman. As many as one-third to possibly just over half of LSU's offensive starters coming from Catholic in 4 to 5 years. Possibly an all Catholic backfield starting for LSU.

But for real, Derrius is a stud. From what I've heard LSU has their eyes on him already.

Call it as I see it. Don't agree, fine. I'm really hurt by your comment, though.

I know, I was there. Won't work against physical defenses. Still gimmicky.

Yes, Parkview does. It works very well in 3A when depth is a problem for most teams.

Bookmarked this thread for February 2015. I'm guessing you haven't seen the kid play, just bashing him from uneducated emotions.

Did your son not get into catholic?

I didn't know this was a try to hurt people feelings board.

Not trying to upset you but maybe let you know you come across as a bitter guy. Its not an attack but more like an observation. You could have left your post to complementing the young man.

But you had to say something negative.

Acadiana is one of only two 5A schools that runs the Split-Back Veer Option. That would be gimmicky. They seem to hold up fine in 5A. Carencro played in the dome last year running the Wing-T, which is the same thing that Catholic does just from the shotgun.

Catholic won't go deep in the play-offs because they lack the overall size to hold up against the best teams and the defense is a year away from being really good.

He ABSOLUTELY is an LSU prospect. Will he get an offer this year? No.

Is this weekly updated thread stupid? Yes.

No one cares about his stats except the people that follow him and they get them from The Advocate every Saturday morning.

The Veer and Wing- T are NOT gimmicky. Catholic has their QB in the backfield with his back to the Line of scrimmage executing two or more fakes and on keepers his first couple steps are backwards up the field as he turns. THAT'S GIMMICKY. It looks almost like the cluster trick play on kickoff returns.

I was being facetious on the feelings hurt comment, btw. Bitter? Nah. Fwiw, CHS has a real good chance to beat Dutchtown from what I've seen. DTHS has small LBs that may have a hard time bringing down #s 3, 20 and 14, but a really good DL.
