According to Shea Dixon of Geaux247, LSU's 247Sports site, the Tigers have evaluated a couple of such quarterbacks, one being former Calvary quarterback Daniel Fitzwater, who just finished a second season at Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Wesson, Mississippi.

Fitzwater's father, Mike, told The Times his son was invited to LSU in July and remains in contact with the school. "He visited with (LSU offensive coordinator) Cam Cameron for quite a while," Mike Fitzwater said. "At that time, they said they didn't have anymore scholarships, but said they would evaluate him at the send of (this season)."

Looks good, but out of all those highlights... Can he take a snap under center?

I'm not sure he can come in and start. Good arm, but he still looks very raw in the pocket and throws without setting his feet too often. As noted, he runs a lot of quick throws out of the shotgun, which LSU does not do. I don't think he's the fit for us. I'd rather see what Harris can do. I believe Kelly is the only JUCO guy that can actually come in and compete for the qb job.

You can tell that Les doesn't have influence on that offense.

Do they have highlights of him handing the ball off. Also taking early time outs when the plays don't come in time. That's what he needs to be prepared for.

Good looking QB, sorry about rant.

I played with him for two years at CBA and can clarify that he can take a snap from under center. He has raw talent and great leadership qualities, It would be interesting to see how he develops under Cam Cameron.

I agree that he stills looks very raw, Don't think he could compete in the SEC. Chad Kelly would be the one that could possibly do that at this time.

And if he can't, then he is no use to LSU- we need someone who has the ability to start, not someone to groom for a year or even redshirt.

Yeah I don't see this kid as SEC caliber.

I stopped watching the highlight video after the first 2 minutes where all it is him throwing bomb after bomb.

I've seen him play twice this year.

I've seen Kelly play four times.

I'm not bullish on anyone, but if I'm taking someone, it's Kelly, and it's really not all that close.

Also, for those interested. Jeryl Brazil committed to ULL this past weekend. Jeryl tore his ACL in EMCC's first game of the season.

THIS. We have a guy to start at QB next season. The staff got the QB they wanted, now get him ready to play.

He stares down a single receiver in nearly every highlight. We've had enough of that, I believe.

Oh, so you guys are now stealing my idea of LSU needing to recruit Daniel Fitzwater. Cool!

Kid has a good arm, nice accuracy and ball placement, calm in the pocket under pressure, and good pocket presence. Throws the ball far to well for what were trying to do here. Other than the latter, I say sign him up. Can't do any worse.

Not much better than Rivers
No one wanted him out of high school why should LSU have any interest now.

I just hope Pellerin doesn't blow up at Ole Miss like Dak did at MSU

I'm ok with Kelly getting a shot but can you see him sitting behind Jennings
