Kids from Nola and BR used to be threatened with being sent to Stanislaus if they were bad.

Only Rivals and Scout have him as a 3 star which just shows how bad they have gotten but he just got invited to the Under Armour All American Game so I think it will be hard pressed for those two serives not to atleast have him as a high 4 star now.

Rivals has become a joke in the recruiting world.

I just looked and 247 sports still has him listed as a 3 star.

247 has him as a four star. Their composite ranking shows him as a three star.

I was one of the kids whose parents followed through on the threat.

Stanislaus was a reform school back then.

I was in 6th grade. The least badly behaved kid in my class is a convicted murderer now (Frank Luker, Goodbee QuikStop shooting). One of the kids in the room across the hall from my room was raped by his roommate. The school covered it up and made sure the parents didn't find out. Everyone was told never to discuss it again and anywho did had dozens of lashes to look forward to.

There were fights daily, usually more than one.

It made me tough if nothing else. I learned how to take a punch, throw a punch, win a fight and many other skills I haven't used since my freshman year of high school (except general toughness, that's come in handy).

I received my share of corporal punishment, but "the strap" wasn't enough incentive to not fight. It was like prison back then. You had to stick up for yourself. Any sign of weakness and you'd be exploited.

I've heard it's changed a lot in the time since, but Saint Stan was a bad place in the early 90's.

I know, CSB...

Star's don't matter man. The kid can play and that is all that matters.

You know what's crazy is that you got QBs like Hunter Johnson, Dylan Mccrafery and Tate Martell that were ranked 5 stars before or certainly during their Junior years and Brennan out performed them all head to head in Oregon at The Opening Finals. He has out performed them all to this point for three years as a starting HS QB. Its just the national press guys never paid Brennan any attention until the NO elite11 regional. The press core is not going to put a kid from bay st. somewhere, MS ahead of the guys that they have created and talked about since they were in 8th grade. Dont worry about how many stars Brennan ends up with but how many points he puts on the scoreboard in Tiger Stadium!

I went there for tenth grade in 2001, and it was nothing like that. I never saw a fight, really just a lot of shite talking from those who were not boarders. Basically it was just a bunch of pot heads that parents sent them there because they smoked pot and didn't know how to handle it. Really dumb to send their kids to a dorm full of them, but some parents don't think like that. Also there were a few Mexican's that were well off. They brought Rolex's there and of course they got jacked in the middle of the night. I got kicked out with a few other people smoking pot out the windows at night. Luckily I grew up a few years later.

If you were there in the early 90's, you know my dad, and I may have kicked you in the shins running around the halls and locker rooms. He was a coach and junior-senior guidance counselor. Initials AK.

You're only a couple years older than me, and yeah, it was nothing like that when we were there, and I seriously doubt it was like he says in the early 90's. Had he said 60's or 70's, I might have thought that shite could POSSIBLY happen, but he's lying out his arse.

I was there in the 80"s and that was when brother Joseph was in control. He didn't have a strap. It was a paddle with holes in it so that he could generate more paddle speed. I got it several times for fighting and always against one of the dope heads from NO. I was friends with a few that were on the FB team (and dope heads) but the the other slackers just smoked cigs and weed all day. I hated that fricking place. It wasn't worse than St Paul's though.
