Looks to be an Ole Miss/LSU battle for the talented linebacker with MSU still hanging on by a thread.

Having seen him play, he is the #1 player in Mississippi, I dont care what the rankings say. Kid will contribute in a big way where ever he ends up.

I think OM is his leader right now, but who knows. I don't trust much when stuff like this develops rather quickly.

The consensus was always that if he did not end up at MSU, it would be LSU. This late Reb surge blows.

Both schools need him badly. C'mon, CJ. Cotton Bowl or Egg Bowl?

Depends whether or not he wants to play in relevant games or not! Rings, trophies of the glass variety, etc.

Actually thinking he is OM's to lose. I hope I'm wrong and he comes to Baton Rouge though. He's a great pickup for whoever gets him.

Heard he's leaving his OM visit a little early to head to Fayetteville that same weekend. Not sure how that came about, seems like we are a little late to the party.

All it will take is his visit to LSU. We do get his last visit potentially. MSU this weekend, Ole Miss the 21st, and LSU the 28th, with possibly one more afterwards

How is he going to take one afterwards? Signing day is Feb. 2nd.

is this fact or your speculation?

Supposedly he's been here multiple times unofficially.

He is. He put on his facebook page the question Maroon and white or Red and Blue?

He let people comment and eventually posted Maroon and White. Take it for what its worth. I havent heard him say much about LSU at all a lot more about Ole Miss than LSU.

This was true a few months ago. In the recruiting world, stuff changes fast and it might not be true anymore.

This is baffling to me. Going into this season, LSU should have been the #1 destination for two positions: QB and MLB.

We got Mett but before him, all of the blue chip QBs were focused elsewhere. At LB, all we have signed is Trevon Randle, who looks like he'll be on the outside.

You would think that a kid like CJ would be all over LSU. LSU will consistently play in bigger games than both Mississippi schools, it isn't far from home, Chavis is a genius with LBs and other than Minter, there really is not another true Mike LB on the entire squad.

This is the perfect match.

i get the impression we just dont recruit the postion hard as if its not a priority or something.

If we are in fact recruiting it hard but no one comes here, then there must be a turn-off or something thats unattractive, like there's a position coach over that group who isnt likeable.

Either way, ther'es a reason they dont come here when a pattern like this develops.

It can't be that. Chavis is a LB guru.

I don't think LSU is doing a good enough job selling that fact. Maybe after recruits see Sheppard drafted they'll start getting the message.
