Reading this doesn't sound like he will be wearing the purple and gold...from the HC website:
quote:

Last week Texas A&M got Michael Chigbu on their campus for the first time. According to Chigbu, things couldn’t have gone much better. “I went over there on Thursday and they really impressed me,” said Chigbu. “It was my first time there, so I got to meet all the coaches and I saw the campus, facilities, and I got to watch practice too. I saw what they have now and the new stuff that is coming, and I liked it all.” The talented wide receiver spent the most time with David Beaty, the receivers’ coach and recruiting coordinator at Texas A&M. The two are developing a great relationship. “I like Coach Beaty a lot. I spent more time with him than any other coach and he has a great personality. We get along well and I like the way he coaches too. He interacts well with the players, I like how he treats me, and he is a coach I like talking to.” There is some chatter that the Aggies may have grabbed the lead for the 6-foot-2, 205 pound New Orleans, La. native. Chigbu has no leader though. “I am wide open right now. I am looking at everyone the same. I have not made a list or anything yet, but I think I will have one in the next few weeks. I want to a top four or five together soon.” Plenty of schools are working hard to be on that list. “Texas A&M, Georgia, Ole Miss, Duke, and Arizona State are recruiting me the hardest right now,” said Chigbu. “I am trying to get to Duke, Georgia, and Ole Miss soon so I can see what those schools are like. I do not have dates set yet, but I am looking it.” Another SEC West school has had the star at Holy Cross on their campus already in 2014. He liked what he saw there too. “I like the new attitude at Auburn under Coach [Gus] Malzahn. I saw their spring game last year, then I saw them play the season, and Malzahn really worked his magic. The team played great and the visit went very well this time. I liked it over there.” Chigbu is looking for a balance of academics and football and the word that starts with an ‘A’ is most important to him. That will weigh heavily into his decision. “Football will end one day, so academics is most important. I want to go to a school with strong academics so I can be prepared. I also want to be at a place that helps me grow as a man and play in an offense that knows how to use me at wide receiver.” A decision could come anywhere from the spring to after the season.

First, Chigbu doesn't have an LSU offer

Second, Chigbu probably won't receive an LSU offer

Chigbu is good, but so are the dozen or so other WRs we are going after.

I wouldn't say that at all.

When these kids camp at LSU and we get to evaluate Chigbu, Morgan, Chatman, Charlot and Gant I bet 1 or 2 leave with an offer.

I'm just passing along some info that I read on a kid that alot of people who post on here want to have play for LSU...a little surprised that he didn't mention anything about LSU in this writeup

It seems common for recruits not to talk about schools they don't have offers from. It doesn't mean they aren't interested in that school.

I like the staff is doing their due diligence to evaluate these WRs very closely. There a lot of really good WRs in-state this year.

I disagree. I believe he has a very good chance at getting a lsu offer. Might not come soon, probably summer or next season but with definitely a prospect.

because the writing is on the wall

Next LA WR to get an offer is most likely Chatman.

This

And we hopefully finish with a WR class of

Jazz
Tyron Johnson
Carlos Strickland
Chatman
Dillon or Merritt (whichever stays on offense)

Geauxaggie pegged it. No one is saying the kid definitely won't get an offer just that the odds are very much against him. Chatman and Charlot are next in line instate then you still have Fournette and Merritt fittting in somewhere. We are gonna take oir run at a few OOS kids before throwing multiple offers out instate. I see 1, maybe 2 instate kids that will get offers before january. Also have to possibly factor in the Campbell kid. Some say S, some WR but he fits somewhere when he gets offered. I'd rather be let Chigbu go and chase the top kids if that's what it comes down to. Hes a good wr prospect and in normal years would likely have an offer already but we can afford to pass with last years group, the current crop who are all close and the 16 group which may be better than all of them. Wr is one position we can afford to be picky and chase the top guys right now

Just because Charlot got a Bama offer doesn't mean he'll get one here.

Camp this year is gonna be a tryout for all these instate Wrs

Tyron
Jazz
Chatman
Chigbu
Charlot
D. Williams
S. Morgan

Some tough decisions but I'm sure there's at least 3 in there that will turn out
