All this talk about going to Texas could have something to do with Grimes future at LSU

If he's switching to dline, Rosenthal has to be switching to offense.

Or maybe we just need as many d-lineman as we can get and there aren't that many elite guys out there for the taking that we have a legit shot with. Lsu won't have trouble finding an OG, but we are having trouble locating top level d-lineman for this class

We need both.

Hope he stays with LSU regardless of position.

This just makes it more important to get 2 or 3 OL.

With at least 2 being OT's.

At 6-3 350, Hines seems built to play NT.

At 6-7 325, Rosenthal seems built more like an OT.

Either way, they can look forward to early playing time.

That was my thought. Going by measurables it makes sense.

An asterisk because I don't know enough about their athleticism for both positions (footwork for Rosenthal and "twitch"/quickness for Hines). Love to hear if someone has seen enough of them in action to know.

You can't safely assume that. You don't know what his true measureables are. More importantly, you can't possibly know what is ideal size is for his frame.

Long term, there are much fewer NFL opportunities at NT than there are at OG or OT. O is obviously going to be biased toward putting him at DL. I appreciate the guy's commitment to LSU, but he needs objective guidance.

Read that he has been killing it on defense in the last few games. I hope that the move to DL is due to some upcoming JUCO OL commitments that can immediately play.

I think he will sign with Texas in the end. I hope I'm wrong.

Which will make me happy as a Texas fan :).

Both teams need massive help on both lines, we'll just need to see how both teams fare through the rest of the season. With that being said, I'm optimistic.

On the bright side for LSU, it seems his mom LOVES LSU. So that may help in the end.
