First as much as I hate this topic; it needs to be discussed.

We are doing our very best to flip recruits in our favor, but it has also gone against our favor in the past on NSD. (i.e. Shiro Davis, Kenny Bell, Janzen Jackson, etc.)

This year we have:
Don Campbell - suppossed to visit Ga Tech and Bama
Drake Davis - ole miss and Bama?
Glen Logan - Miami?
Monte Coxie - Bama?
Fowler - Texas?

The visit from Drake Davis to T-town went very quietly and I know they covet both he and Coxie. I have a bad feeling about losing one of them for no particular reason at all. Davis as a player has been getting more and more exciting for me and this WR class would be one of the best ever if it stays as is. I know most people are more worried about Fowler and I really hope he sticks as well.

Does anyone have any personal relationships or inside info on who we should or shouldnt be worried about?

This was a critical time to lose Frank Wilson, so I hope the staff doesnt let up but instead puts even more focus and emphasis on our current committed Tigers. None of these recruits should be taken for granted until NSD. This is one of the best classes already that I have seen in the 10 years I have followed it.

Lets give as much love and attention possible to our current committed players as a fan base down the home stretch

Cant hurt to acknowledge and support our current commitments amongst the mad scramble before NSD.

Also, just seeking any inside info to calm any worries of possible defections.

You sure it doesnt?

"Needs" is a strong word in this scenario.

Are you trying to start a conversation to make everyone panic? I'm a little confused as to what your thread is about. All those things have been discussed. We are aware that commitments are taking their visits. And yes there have been updates.

To which I conceded and downgraded to "couldnt hurt."

But if semantics keeps you worried, thats your battle

If I was unclear, the post has two points:

A) Continue to publicly support, appreciate and acknowledge the great recruits we currently have committed.

B) Obtain and update information to prevent panic on the status of those recruits choosing to continue to take visits before NSD.

Not that this board should hold any weight towards a young man's decision.. but this just doesn't seem like a good idea just yet. At least wait until NSD.. Why add any possible extra ammunition towards a young man who may still be sensitive enough that what is said impact their decision? Again, not likely.. but on the slim chance.. what is said in regards to something being perceived as negative could potentially be a deterrent..

How about let's have a positive and confident outlook.. actually believe in the program..

I understand you don't want to get your hopes up.. so then don't.. either way though whatever happens is going to happen.. and it will probably still hurt or feel great all the same.. but at least let's look and act like a top program.. This is still LSU!

You must be late to the party. Search around. There are updates and we appreciate and talk about our commitments everyday.

And I'm not too upset about these. :) But I know what you are getting at.

Word from Texas is that Fowler is still a hard commit to LSU after his visit there. That's all I got.

Fowler - Texas?
His visit didn't go well at UT this weekend. Fowler sticks.
quote:

Monte Coxie - Bama?
I wouldn't blame the kid for this one. Next year we'ol have 7-15 wideouts on roster that will play on Sundays.
quote:

Glen Logan - Miami?
He's coming to LSU. He's built to play DE in DA's 3-4
quote:

Don Campbell - suppossed to visit Ga Tech and Bama
Only one that concerns me. His brother being at GA Tech is a little threatening but his visit this weekend went great. I think he stays.
quote:

Drake Davis - ole miss and Bama?
He's sticking with LSU.

Thanks to those of you who provided valuable updates.

Happy to hear about fowler, logan and davis. Im not worried about Ga Tech and Campbell, I think its just a chance to hang with his brother for free for a weekend.

I was actually searching for more positive feedback, but apparently worded it wrongly

It's not a personal relationship, but I heard from a source close to the periphery of a weeknight bowling league that Felipe Franks is having some second thoughts about his commitment to LSU. We definitely need to discuss the ramifications, and what we as posters on a message board can do to insure he sticks with his commitment to LSU.

How about we not overreact to every rumor as if it is earth shattering news? Nothing we say or do is going to outweigh the efforts of the LSU coaching staff to get the letters of intent from commitments.

Has there ever been a recruit who after NSD said, I didn't sign with LSU because of what some idiot said on the Rant?

No takers thus far. Safe to say no info to share. Buckle your seat belt, the last few weeks/days heading to NSD usually brings a heavy dose of paranoia.
