Yea..

It's also 1 of the best schools in the entire nation and he will play immediately there.

I didn't think Tech. We were not really on him. He had an offer but we didn't aggressively pursue him.

I guess he wants to be a star? I just don't understand this move though.

Rice isn't going to be bottom of CUSA any longer. Look at what Rhoades did in his first year. I firmly believe he's one of the best coaches in the entire country.

Cashaw from my high school in Illinois as well is heading to Rice. He won state with Jalen Brunson.

Of course you don't. You're a Tech guy. He's going to get a great education and play the same level of basketball he would at ULL or Tech

Super excited for Rice and Chad. One of the best kids I've met the past few years and I've made no secret of that. About a month ago he made the decision to focus on academics with his college decision and I can't imagine a much better fit than Rice for that. He'll be successful in life. That's all you can ask for. As far as on the court, he's very aware of his shortcomings and what he has to do to fix those. By his 3rd and 4th seasons, a ton of schools will wonder why they didn't come harder after him.

Oh please. Same level? Rice can't sniff the success Tech has had the past four years. Tech has three straight conference championships, yeah yeah yeah no ncaa tournaments to show for it, but such is the life for a mid major.

Rice may be on the rise but they have a long way to go.

I didn't realize he was so focused on academics, that's pretty rare these days with good basketball players, so it makes more sense now.

Rice is on the way up, Tech lost their emerging superstar coach and are now on the way down.

I'd say it was a very smart decision by Lott, good use of forward thinking.

Absolutely. I am very happy for Chad. Obviously gets a lot of respect on here from anyone in the know. A really top class kid. Will do great things there.

If I was La Tech I'd look out for Rice. They've been building what looks like a good team and Chad will have a big part of a rebuilding process. They only started 1 senior and they are bringing in some solid players.
