Can someone explain the scale for kids qualifying?

Ive had it explained to me before but I dont recall the finer details. The sliding scale part between the GPA and SAT/ACT scores is the most confusing.

When did they change the number for act scores? Never heard about that.

Yeah wtf I'm glad I know that in case someone younger asks and I tell them I scored in the 20 they don't think im a tard

The ACT listed is not a new scoring system, its the sum total of the 4 sections of the ACT.
So someone with a 3.55 Core GPA pretty much doesn't have to try at all, and someone with a 2.0 needs to average above a 21.
I believe that your total score is allowed to come across multiple testings, so kids can lock in scores in sections and then focus on particular areas (which is why you will occasionally hear a recruit say something like "I only need to raise my English score by one point.").

I thought there was a rule change a few years back that had something saying kids had to pass core subjects on time.

May be wrong obviously.
