Do y'all really think this is clever? I think it's obsessive, approaching borderline creepy.

Think about it. These instate blue chip LA recruits have been badgered by everyone to commit to LSU since being juniors in high school. So they finally get an opportunity to get away from Louisiana and the LSU sales pitch to visit another school and they put Cameron on the same 3 hour flight "coincidentally".

This situation is the equivalent of having a high school fling with a girl but not ready to commit to a relationship. You take another girl out to the movies to test the waters to help make a decision on who you want to commit to. But on your movie date with the second girl, the original fling's mom just so happened to be sitting next to you in the same movie theatre.

LSU needs to tap the breaks to save face and avoid looking so desperate

Obviously, you've never heard of the University of Alabama. Billy Napier hiding in bushes in Monroe is what we have to fight year round. Their Head Coach bumps into recruits all the time. A&M's Head Coach oozes slime. One plane ride for a legitimate reason (recruiting someone else) is small potatoes comparedto the aforementioned.

I'm sure they were well aware he was going to be flying with them. I'll repeat this since you obviously haven't read the thread, but there were only 3 flights out of BR to LA, so the odds of having the same flight were good.

AND Curtis kids aren't pressured to go to LSU. In fact, LSU has lost a few kids to other schools in the past, and Curtis has his players take their time and choose the school THEY want. This is fact.

no, it's not even remotely close to this. In fact, this post is idiotic. Cam was headed to see Adoree already (it's the alst week of recruiting) and it makes perfect sense to have him on the flight with these kids.

yes.

However, you must know that there is one flight out of NOlA to LA a day. Cameron was to fly out on Thursday night, but was delayed due to weather. There wasn't really intent to do this.

Plus, on southwest, it's sit wherever you can. That's really all that happened.

Desperate? Really? I guess there's no way to win if you're LSU - if you lose a blue chip recruit you didn't work hard enough & if you merely appear to be aggressive, you're desperate. My God, some of the stupid here is strong.

2013 changes in NCAA bylaws

Here is the NCAA manual, I don't see any restrictions on the limit of asst coaches that can accompany the HC on his visit (other than the total allowed # of coaches which is 10)

let's be honest with ourselves here. There are probably 3 people in the universe with actual knowledge of the exact rules of NCAA recruiting.

Who those three are, I have no idea. But I do know that whomever created them, did so as a middle finger to anyone who tries to figure them out.

i agree with everything you said, but switch "A&M's Head Coach" to Fox News.

that's because your link shows the changes that were made.

Apparently that rule wasn't changed.

It's probably more along the lines of these kids shooting the shite with Cam about what all he's seen in the NFL through the years. They are more than likely not bummed about having to spend a little extra time with their soon to be new OC.
