Phidarian Mathis would be playing right now at LSU. That one hurt.

Buggs and Big Marv.

How many years of eligibility does Buggs have at Bama?? Is he a soph or a junior??

Buggs wanted to come to LSU and we stopped recruiting him as hard because they thought they had Marvin Wilson in the bag. How do I know this? I’m from Ruston originally and that’s what his dad told me. Hell Buggs was going to LSU out of high school but did not have his grades. Buggs and Akers and the kid that went to Clemson are by far the biggest misses.

It’s Biggs for sure. Our Dline has such potentional but no depth and Buggs would hav evoke in right away to make that better as a playmaker. Akers was a loss but with Guice and Williams not quite as big. Lacouture should not be a starter

Ed O was suppose to be a DL recruiting guru. I think at the end of the season we need to bring in a great DL coach hire. One that can coach and recruit. Last years & this years DL recruiting has been average at best. O needs to step up his game in recruiting because LSU should never not be in the top 10.

hmmmm...

in Orgeron's ONE year as recruiting coordinator (2016) we took 4 DTs, 1 5*, 2 4*, and 1 3* (unicorn).

in Orgeron's first year as DL coach (2015, about 3 weeks before signing the '15 class) we enrolled ZERO DTs

Last year, we enrolled 2, both 4* and missed on two big one's.

And I do seem to remember finishing in top-10 in 2016 and 2017.

So me thinks you just are putting the Wilson miss out there and exaggerating just so you can say CEO sucks.

Really nice to have someone else on here presenting facts.

As far as the biggest miss. I say Buggs. We still have a ton of issues with this team, but with him contributing (probably starting) from game 1, I think we look like a completely different defense against MSU and Troy (and Syracuse for that matter).

This is not true. We wanted Buggs and Marvin they are two diff positions. We stopped recruiting him when he started asking for monetary shite like cars. Believe it or not we are actually running a clean program. Our compliance officer for football is one of the toughest in the NCAA.

How the AD messed with the DC contract then put a clause leaving LSU scrambling hurt recruiting. How the AD leaked the head coach was going to be fired before then end of season hurt recruiting. How the AD then fired the head coach 4 games into the season hurt recruiting.

You had 3 dc in 3 years. made a head coach change, wr coach twice, rb coach twice and d line coach twice during that span.

Buggs was an even bigger loss because he was such a heavy lsu lean for most of the process. He and Wilson. O can't afford to lose guys like that at his position of expertise

That is the most disappointing thing about Coach O. He's supposed to be this world class recruiter (a big rational for giving him the head job), yet he's shown nothing to write home about so far. Coach Miles' classes were consistently top-10, and lot of times top-5. This '18 class better get a lot better to make a believer out of me.

How in the hell do they continue to get away with this? I mean seriously it is killing CFB. Would seem that something would be done about this at some point. It is honestly bad for the game to have one team so dominant every year. It has greatly reduced my enthusiasm toward CFB. Everyone knows it will be Bama plus 3 more in the final four. Sucks but true.
