Just watched some of Laurence Jones sophomore video and for this dude to be listed 6'2/210 it's scary. Most of the video I've seen on LC there wasn't too much man coverage situations. LJ video includes some man free and coverage situations where he's playing the rec straight up. From what some people have said, they think LJ should be moved to LB which I don't see on film. I think with his ball skills LJ has the ability to play either safety spot and maybe in the box in certain packages. This dude still has two years to play. He'll certainly end up top ten overall in the nation. If you compare the videos of both, who do you think will end up as the better safety prospect long term?

All I can say is Laurence Jones is a big dude. Saw him play bball a couple months ago against Salmen. He was playing PF and was a beast on the boards. I wouldn't be surprised if he was moved to LB...I mean he's only going into his junior year.

I can definitely see him being a 5*.

They are very close. Kid loves ohio state. Gonna have to chase urban off, if it's possible.

Meh...I don't think there's much we have to worry about with them...just my opinion though.

Urban is on the same level as Orgeron. Landing Diarse was huge for him IMO.

Urban is a fantastic recruiter, no doubt. But he's never really had a big splash in LA that I can remember. And correct me if I'm wrong, but LJ has no ties to Ohio St...just grew up liking them, right? How many out-of-state guys say that about LSU and never end up here. Home wins out in this one. And you are right about Diarse...I think that was huge as well.

He loves the idea of Ohio State. Let him go up there when it's 15 degrees and snowing and see what he thinks.

His coach already said he's not going far from his mother, and when was the last time a player from Louisiana even had an Ohio st offer?

When's the last time Urban was the head coach at Ohio State? He loves everything Ohio State, and now having Urban on board makes it harder for us. He will be a top national recruit and it will come down to O.S. and LSU till the very end. Speak to any of his teammates.

I think he stays home and goes to LSU. But to think he won't get an offer being the caliber player he is, is wrong. Urban knows the south and Hootie will be ranked with the best of them. They will be a serious threat.

Why does it matter who the coach is, tressel was just as good a recruiter as urban

Tress did not have as many connections to the south as Urban. And honestly it dosent matter who the coach is. The kid likes them so much he will get an offer by asking for it himself.

You had to realize that this kid was in middle school when Urban was dominating at Florida. This was probably his first impression of college football and he was most likely the first big name coach he remembers. He probably could not tell you Coach Tress first name. That is what gives the edge to Urban.

Not disagreeing with you on Urban but Tressell was very tied into the South. He got a couple of kids from FL every year and also hit GA,NC and Va. Urban just gets praised on TV and seems better. Tressel was a very good recruiter. Not as aggressive or edgy as Meyer but still very good. I give Meyer a slight edge because he's so aggressive and personally involved in recruiting. He basically self recruits the big kids he wants.

Agree about Jones and Cb but think he ends up at S. I've honestly never heard LB associated with him. He's got major cover skills.

Stats say otherwise. 2006 2007 2008 2009 2010
The only year Tressel finished ahead of Meyer was in 2009, when OSU took 25 and UF took 16. Meyer still ended up with a higher average stars per player to.

Whatever if he ends up not going to LSU at least he can get out of the conference and go to a school where we will never have to play him probably
