Frank Monica at St. Charles,
if you compare wins to talent, its not even close
Dalrymple has averaged 10 wins a year for 29 years and I can't remember ANYONE every coming out of Oak Grove.

Also, West Monroe had NEVER won a playoff game until Shows arrived. Everyone knows them as what they are today, but I remember running around in an empty stadium as a kid. He has taken WM from a bottom feeder to the premier program in the largest classification in the state.
Still if it's who has done more with less the answer is Dalrymple and it's not close. He'll become only the 6th coach in Louisiana history to go over 300 wins this year.

Have to go with Vic D.
for the far future, the coach at St Fred's has done a terrific job, two years without any assistants with very little talent. think last year he got one or two (assistants) finally. (far future).

All of you are missing the boat - I do agree that COOK of Notre Dame and MONICA of St. Charles are good but they DO NOT COMPARE to Tim Detillier of Lutcher. Notre Dame and St. Charles are private schools that can produce players from a much larger population base and Lutcher has about 7,400 people to draw 7oo students from and yet LUTCHER HIGH has won 3 state championships in the last 8 years. Have you driven through Lutcher - it only has 1 Winn Dixie, a couple of gas stations and a lumber store. My vote goes to Tim Detillier of Lutcher High.

Agreed but in the premise of the threat Detillier's had more than his share of talent roll through the tri cities of Lutcher, Paulina and Gramercy

Lutcher has 3700 people, gramercy has 3,000 and paulina 676 - about 7,400 people to receive 700 students. I think Tim Detillier has done a fantastic job with the talent availability from a small population base. As far as Curtis goes, the state of Louisiana is their oyster. I would not put Curtis in the category with Cook, Monica and Detillier.

Rather difficult question. LaLande at South Cameron who recently retired is an outstanding coach. His teams never have any size, no speed, and has never had a player play 4 yrs in college.

Why hasn't anyone mentioned Sid Edwards, he won 3 State Titles with Redemptorist, then he has made the playoffs and won District 5A every year he has been there, he is by far the best coach with multiple schools!

Sid Edwards. Gave Central their first playoff win in 30 years. Won back to back District 4-5A championships and won 3 state titles w/ Redemptorist. I think his crowning achievement on the field is his turnaround job at Central.

What has Bradshaw won without Katrina players?
+1. He would head my list with coaches that have done less with more. Over the years, he has had a ton of players go on to play college ball, but never won anything before Katrina.

They had a tight end in the early '90s that signed with LSU then transfered after a year to La Tech because he was behind Lafleur.
Just saying

Yes a plethora of talent...The south LA bias is clearly shown in this thread. Just change the title to Best South LA HS coach.
